Its the design of the flag that gives it its name and the ignorance of the folks that dechpier it that make it racist I have said before and i will say again it was a flag designed to signfy who was in their army. Cause im sure if youlook back at the flags flown in revolutinary war not all were the same, but similiar, they were sewn on materials the women had at the time

The plain fact is, Lincoln was the all-time politician, and all that implies.

The fact that a minority of white Southerners were slave-owners does not negate the other fact that white Southern non-slave owners had a strong belief in having a stake in preserving the slavery system and its white supremacist culture.

My MA is in 19th Century U.S. History; I've done plenty of secondary and primary source reading in my particular area of interest, which is the transition from the antbellum period to the post-bellum period in United States.

I'm not pulling things out of my *** -- it's information I have gleaned from years of course work and independent reading on this subject.

I was born in Maine and served proudly in the U S Army and came to love the southern United States

It does amaze me here that people who have no possible understanding of what a redneck is, and yet they fire the Rascism Cannon away, while saying southerners are dumb rednecks full of pride and prejudice, that all northerners point to the south as redneck @zzhats..

Shame, if they would just play back those words they would find just who is indeed more prejudice.

Now, I have first hand knowledge, the KKK is alive and well in the south, very much so, just not stretching necks, but still alive. In North Carolina you have the Carolina Knights of the Klu Klux Klan.

They hold these Clavern meetings and obtain parade/protest permits.

The south also has some very mouthy minority groups preaching hatred against white people because some white folks several generations ago did some terrible things to some minorities.

When does it all end?

Not here, not with some remarks made here which echo the resentment of the masses.
