I ain't met any that did. Look, I think the South gets a bad rap from Notherners in general, and they certainly have a right to be defensives, especially from a bunch of self-righteous, stuck up ****s who crowd minorities into ghettos and burn their houses if they try and move into a white neighborhood and beat them (sometimes to death) for being in the wrong neighboorhood at night. That said, the South, while coming a long way in dealing with its past, still has some real bad attitudes towards non-whites, and hasn't fully acknowledged the true horror of what happened here. This was a terrorist state for Blacks. And the "Confederate" flag was the banner of that terrorism. I don't mean just by the KKK. I mean by the Citizens Councils. I mean by the governments in the South. I mean by everyday folks who would find the murderers of Black folks not-guilty. That is the true heritage of that flag. It's never had any other meaning. Ever.

If people want to express their pride in their Southern history and heritage, maybe they should use an actual flag used by the South. Otherwise, they're just ignorant.

If you are going to claim something hateful as your heritage and pretend it doesn't have that meaning, then you damn well better be accurate. Since that falg wasn't flown by the Confederacy, the display of it does not show pride of one's history, but ignorance of it.

And, I didn't have to be around to see the flags myself. There are these things called books where you can read descriptions of things that happened before you were there. There are also paintings. And there are surviving flags.

It's called history. And the folks who claim the "Confederate" flag are igorant of their own.

Its the design of the flag that gives it its name

Most folks call it the Stars and Bars, but as I've already shown twice in this thread, the Stars and Bars looked completely different! There were two similar flags, the typical square standard with the familiar design and a similar design called the Southern Cross.

They decipher it as racist because for 90 years it was used as the flag of white supremacy. Only someone ignorant of their history could claim it wasn't racist.

I have said before and i will say again it was a flag designed to signfy who was in their army.

The first time that flag was ever flwon was 30 years after the war when Confederate veterans adopted it for their associations. The Confederate battle flag was square with a white border. NOT the same thing.

This is the only other flag I fly, period. The only one authorized to fly at the same height as the American flag.

Technically all state flags can fly at the heigth of the US flag. Texas is no special in this regard.

Er no. All state flags must fly below the American flag. Only foreign country flags may fly at an equal height to the American. Texas is a state, not a country. Now Texas voluntarily joined the United States, and like a few other states or parts of states, was independent at one time. But upon joining the U.S. they gave up part of their sovreignty.
