And you know if IS thinks it's bad, there's got to be something going for it.

Best pic? Lord of the Rings, easily.

No way! Ugh... shouldn't even be nominated. TTT was crap, especially when compared to FOTR.

Isn't he that, if he is inclined to constantly renwe his membership? (I don't know their procedures)

As for Honorary Oscars: its whent eh academy thinks your entire body of work is so great you deserve one, even if (susally specially if) you never got one for a specific work.

What pisses me off is that Kubrick never got one. Fine, he died, but he deserved one before that occured.

He bought a "lifetime membership" a few years back, shortly before he began work on "Bowling for Columbine".

But if you watch him in interviews, he uses clever word play to make it seem like he's been a member of the NRA for his whole "life time".

I want to make it clear I'm no fan of the NRA, and I used to like Moore, but following his career over several years, I have realised nearly everything he says is opportunistic bull****.

True - but I can't stand the way it is peddled as art. About the only interesting thing that could have happened this year is Roman Polanski turning up.

                    And, where was Paul Newman?

Wouldn't they have picked him up at the airport?..I mean, the cops, not the academy.

Given what he has lived through, a stint in jail might not seem so bad.
