Wow. Michael Moore just got booed off the stage for calling President Bush a "fictitious president" and other such things. What a jackass...

I just saw that. The only jackasses were the ones booing.

Host Steve Martin gets a huge laugh when he says that "the Teamsters backstage just helped Michael Moore into the trunk of his limo".

And everything he said was true. At least he's prepared to stand up in public for what he believes, unlike some of the chickenhawks on this forum.

Notice how all the other nominees agreed with him.

              Nice one Mike.

I liked it because at least he was incredibly upfront about it. Throughout the show, actors and actresses were being like politicians, trying to avoid expressing their opinions but slipping in phrases that would relate to the war.

I wonder how all the other documentary nominees feel about being used to make Moore's political point?

You really do have to admire the guy.

Why? I used to like him when he stuck to his main strength (humor) but he's gotten too political. Making intelligent points was never his strong suit...

Because he stood up for what he believes in and said what many people there were scared to say.

                          Plus, you know, he's right.

The Oscars aren't the time or place for politics. Come on, they're the Oscars. I'm all for movie stars protesting, declaiming, and so forth, but why spoil something that is nothing more than a celebration of commercialism?

The problem with Mikey is that he's the only one who's there who isn't being celebrated for being fictitious, and he misses the larger purpose of the event, which is to lose touch with reality for a while.
                            I refute it thus!
"Destiny! Destiny! No escaping that for me!"

He cut down our Political Process.

He cut down the Leader of the Greatest Country on Earth..USA

He flamed on a venue that could have been better suited for paying homage to the lives lost..

Nope, I dont have to admire this dunce..not for a moment

                              Peace
