    • Bush is gaining ground in New Mexico and he's been a clear winner in Ohio and Alaska for a while. Bush wins! Four more years!

Didn't Bush do fairly well in California? It's not like Kerry crushed bush there.
Which side are we on? We're on the side of the demons, Chief. We are evil men in the gardens of paradise, sent by the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go. I'm surprised you didn't know that. --Saul Tigh

Yes He is doing a lot better than expected. He has about 47% of the vote so far.

Like Oerdin said, it applies to the Republicans as well who can't carry New England, Mid-Atlantic, or the West.

                  • This is what it boils down to, and Jeff Greenfield is making the exact same point on TV right now:

                    Religion.

                    Religion, religion, religion. ****ing religion.

In the year 2004. I just don't get it. I don't get it at all.

                        • I wonder how much Kerry being a Catholic hurt him. I know there are some places where they won't even think of voting a Catholic in.

Indiana is a part of that industrial heartland, and Michigan/Wisconsin, very much in play.

I think it's Kerry who needs to take a hard look. They went from beating Bush in the popular vote, to Bush claiming a plurality of the votes cast in the US.

What this means, is that Bush has the mandate the Democrats denied him previously. He has the mandate of the people in the US.

Are we watching the same election? You know the one where the Republicans gained in the House, Senate, number of Governors, likely retained the White House, and will appoint at least one SCOTUS Justice.
