I think it's Kerry who needs to take a hard look. They went from beating Bush in the popular vote, to Bush claiming a plurality of the votes cast in the US.

What this means, is that Bush has the mandate the Democrats denied him previously. He has the mandate of the people in the US.
It looks like it won't just be a plurality. It will be a solid majority.

          • DD: Yes, you claimed Democrates were no longer a national party based upon two elections in four years. That is incorrect and that both parties have areas they can't win.

                    • kerry may get my state.

He has promised not to bring nuclear waste here, so I suspect he will get my state. Not that it matters. He lost either way. Even if he gets 269 he has no chance.

                      • 51% is hardly enough to claim a 'mandate'. That means 49% didn't want you there.

                        • It seems the youth vote heavily favors Democrates but as always the young people were to lazy to vote. Only about 10% of the electerate were young people which was the same in 2000. The youth vote has the lowest turn out of any group.

                            • Are we watching the same election?

Apparently not. For some reason you think Bush took anything in the NorthEast, Mid-Atlantic, or the Pacific Coast. The Republicans are just as much a national party as the Democrats are. That is shown by the small electoral seperation between the two.
