So, to be clear and accurate then: every ban on partial birth abortions has been overturned by the courts, and you're hoping the decisions will be reversed on their final appeal. Is that right?

One court, and there are still many other challenges to sort out that have yet to rule.

So if you believe this is all over, then please say so.

I expect this lower court decision to be overturned at some point, and the lower courts know this, so they just want to have their opinion made known before the case goes to the Supreme court.

Call me when the case reaches there and we have a decision. Then we can tall about the partial birth abortion ban being successfully overturned.

Dialation and extraction abortion (what the dopes on the right say is 'partial birth') is only done when the mother's life is in danger from the non-dialation process.

The abortion doctors, who use terminology like product of conception, and terminating a pregnancy, prefer the term dilation and extraction.

The question is, what do they extract?

It's just an euphemism designed to hide the truth, like when the military uses the term, collateral damage.

Furthermore, the largest organization of OB/GYN doctors opposes any ban on so called "partial birth" abortions.

So does planned parenthood. Both have vested interests in seeing the abortion industry continue.

And the fact of the matter is, these procedures are not even all that common. It's pure emotional and rhetorical nonsense that drives pro-life people to hate this procedure.

Regardless of how common it is, it is barbaric and should be banned.

Emotional rhetoric? My description of partial birth abortions is rather cold and precise.

Instead of dead fetuses, maybe pro-lifers should hold protestor signs with pictures of women who are alive today because of life-saving dialation and extraction abortion procedures.

And there would be none. No woman needs her viable fetus killed in order to spare her life.

Three courts so far -- New York, San Francisco, and the most recent one being in that bastion of leftist radicalism, Lincoln, Nebraska. As far as I know, those are the three highest courts that have ruled on the issue so far.

I expect you to at least know the facts on the issue of your obsession.

Kopf said his ruling did not apply in cases where the fetus is viable — or able to survive outside the womb.

Which is the point in question. It seems to me that a ban on partial birth abortions would be constitutional, since R v Wade did not provide any right to abortion beyond the point of viability.
