Admiral, let's test your ability to reason. Is there anything wrong with the following:

All abortion bombers are Christian.
All Christians are Republican.
All abortion bombers are Republican.

If one assumes that abortion bombers function as members of the political process when not trying to blow up abortion clinics, then they myst be perforce Republicans. The sort of Christianity that influences abortion bombing is the patriarchal, intolerant kind that is an intergral part of the republican platform touted by such types as Alan Keyes (who once said (alas, i do not have the link for this, but if you don't believe me, I will find it) that violence in schools was God's revenge for abortion). While abortion bombers don't necessarily correspond to the values of the mainstream republican party (though, under Bush, one wonders), they are more likely to vote Republican, as another party would have no chance of winning.

Christians are good Christians or bad Christians;
All abortion bombers are bad Christians;
All bad Christians are Republican;
All abortion bombers are Republican?

Or better,

All Republicans are bad people;

All abortion bombers are Republican?

I don't think it really can be overturned, until the case is finished and all appeals are exhausted.

I never understood objections to partial birth abortion. If the thing's dead how does it matter how it dies??

The child is killed during the partial birth abortion.

The mother starts her delivery, as the abortion doctor has to induce labour to do a partial birth abortion.

Then they pull the child out, in a breech delivery, all the way to the head. Since they do not dilate the cervix enough to deliver the head, they pull on the living child so that they can stick a pair of scissors to cut a hole in the skull.

Then they jam a suction machine into the skull to remove the brains of the child. After that, the skull collapses, and they pull the dead child out.

don't listen to BK and his nonsense. Dialation and extraction abortion (what the dopes on the right say is 'partial birth') is only done when the mother's life is in danger from the non-dialation process.

Furthermore, the largest organization of OB/GYN doctors opposes any ban on so called "partial birth" abortions. And the fact of the matter is, these procedures are not even all that common. It's pure emotional and rhetorical nonsense that drives pro-life people to hate this procedure.

Instead of dead fetuses, maybe pro-lifers should hold protestor signs with pictures of women who are alive today because of life-saving dialation and extraction abortion procedures.

I would think that doctors would be able to determine if a woman will have life-threatening complications towards the end of their pregnancy long before then, through proper diagnosis??

If they can predetermine long before this end stage of the pregnancy, then the fetus should be aborted much earlier.

that's why the procedure is not common

there are no guarantees... why limit a doctor's ability to save a life (of a living, breathing person, not a lump of cells)
