I (somewhat) understand the concerns and objections to what many would perceive as an action hostile to another's religion.
It's one thing to work on them while they are alive.
Quite another to declare them 'baptised' after death.
Don't you believe in an immortal soul? Wouldn't these folks you have baptised take offense in their baptism? Particularly if they reject what you believe and have good reasons for doing so?
I'm a Christian, but if folks don't want to be Christian, you have to let them go. Nothing you can do for them after death.

They are presented with the choice of accepting or denying the baptism.
Haven't they already had this choice on Earth, and rejected Mormonism?

Again, according to the LDS church, they have this choice again in the afterlife. There is always a second chance. It is given by baptism for the dead.
ACK!
Don't try to confuse the issue with half-truths and gorilla dust!
Then if my religion says that you do not get a second chance, you ought to respect my beliefs.

How vocal is your opposition to the archaeological studies made into the Egyptian pyramids? How often do you protest the pillaging and plunder made on Egyptian religious sites, in the name of science?
We perform baptisms for the dead and are called disrespectful, and a cult to boot; archaeologists rob mummies and break into pyramids and are worshipped by science.

No, you essentially said that Mormons think you can only go to heaven if your baptised and that if another church baptised your dead relatives you wouldn't really care because you dont think its binding.
I said it may not be an issue about whether it is binding or not, and that Mormons are (yet again) forcing Mormonism on other people.
IF they are converted in post-homugenous life, they agree to accpt that the baptism put them into the church, then they are members. If they are not converted, they can just ignore the fact that the baptism took place, and they are not part of the church.
EDIT: Sorry, didn't read anything past the quote. I was in a rush.

I don't see the big deal. I mean if you're Jewish and think Mormons are full of crap, what do you care if they post-humously baptise your grandma. Likewise why would you care if I preform some cooky ceremony to transform you into a mutant chicken. If you don't believe in it, then why do you care?
