You just don't make any effort to appreciate the realism behind this mini-series.

It's Hollywood version of realism, but at least it doesn't idealize the gay life -- it shows the grit as well as the polish.

    • Of course, what one gay life does Queer as Folk portray? Not one exclusively, but the individual lives of the gay men and lesbians in the mini-series.

I always thought Gale Harold (Brian) looked like a flat chested lesbian- and he definitely wears too much make up.

Michael's boyf. has a much hotter body.

In fact, I think the lesbians get a better deal out of Queer as Folk- and men who like big women (Sharon Gless- definitely a milf for certain men).

Justin looks like a choirboy in need of a feed and a workout, and is waaayyy too young looking for me.

I agree with you on the stories, B.G.- as realistic and as hard hitting as 'Gays of Our Lives' or 'As the Stomach Turns'.

It gets worse- Rogan Josh says I've implied I'm a lesbo.

Oh wait, they're still gay though. Ummm...

Zylka- you know you want Sharon Gless, badly. And Tyne Daly too.

Bring support stockings and Ben Gay.

                      • Got news for you guys -- this will shock you -- they did not pick the character Debbie, to be overweight because the producers thought she would be attractive.

They picked her, because that's how many (not all) older aged mothers look in real life.

                        • Let me say for the record: Tyne Daly is an accomplished actress and although time is working on her, I think she's aging gracefully.

Correct me if I am wrong, she stars on Judging Amy correct? She is a graceful actress who has a certain passion for what she does.
For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)

I liked her in the films 'Telefon' and 'Dirty Harry: The Enforcer.'
