    You guys are right.

My friend also said the same thing. I need to give her some space. Today she has flowers and two voicemails with apologies. That's more than enough I think. So I'll let her sit on it. I hope that she can forgive me. She definitley needs space, for sure.

Valentines and her birthday are both coming up in about a month.

        You know, Ted...

I read something kinda different then what other did. From what I see, you misinterpreted something she said. That can lead to problems, but it's something we all do from time to time. We're human. You then did the mature thing and tried to explain yourself. You then apologized.

Ya know, I'm not so sure you're completely at fault here. If she really did like you that much in the first place, would she be willing to break over a misunderstanding? After you apologized? And are you the only one putting yourself on a pedestal, if she thinks she is going to be immune to the occasional misunderstanding, and she won't recognize it as that even after the other person explained himself and apologized?

I think BD has a point here.

Ask yourself, is the bond between you two so fragile that it can't weather a misunderstanding on your part?

Granted, I have no idea how big the misunderstanding is...

Dude, just tell her "it wasn't me." That solves everything, if hip-hop music is to be believed.

You might have a point here, but it really depends on exactly what Ted said to her and precisely what the misunderstanding was about (and what conclusion he jumped to). Ted, understandably, doesn't seem to want to share the details with us now, so I assumed that he was being accurate when he said that he had been "a complete jerk".

                  Shi,

I actually agree with you on that.

That's the other frustrating thing for me is that I wish she would be understanding about it. I am human and have been so patient with her and I hoped she would do the same for me. I have been so good to her for all of the relationship except for this few days. I had hoped she would focus on the whole relationship and not just magnify this one bad incident.

Maybe in time she will see that...

I think the problem is the last guy she was with was so mean to her. She let him mistreat her so much. She forgave him for doing terrible things to her. But then in the end she wised up and got strong. She stood up to him and promised herself that she wouldn't let anyone treat her like that again.

And that's why I think she is being so hard on me. I've been in her shoes. I was mistreated once and I promised myself nobody was ever going to do that to me again. The problem that I had with that I wasn't as understanding as should have been with people. And that's exactly what I did to her that night we had a misunderstanding. I was so quick to defend myself that I didn't see where she was coming from. That was my mistake. I was just being scared.

That's what she's doing too. And that's what's so messed up about this whole thing.

It's two people who were just scared of getting hurt. So they end up hurting each other.

It could have been easily mended. But then I had to put up my foolish pride and write that stupid letter to her and hurt her feelings even more. That's the part that kills me the most. I dug myself a hole and then brought in the damn earth mover.

                            Just sit tight Ted.

Let her think about it for awhile.

                            You'll do fine.

Rent a pink bunny suit and have a picture of yourself taken in it wearing a hangdog expression - like that kid in A Christmas Story.

Women are suckers for **** like that (sad looking furry animals and men humiliating themselves).

The path of true love never did run smooth.

Now who said that, I wonder?

                                Anyway, good luck.

Oh, and you might explain to this decidedly non hip and rather out of touch dude exactly what a "player" is when he is at home?
