He's a lying liar, and California deserves what they get.
Were did you get this information? From what I heard a producer from the Puming Iron flim that was there said Arnold never said anything that was pro nazi and the person who wrote the book proposal said he found anther verison of the interview that is way different were Arnold does not praise Hittler.

As far as the women, I am sure he did grope some of them. Did he rape anyone? No. It seems like all he did was flirt with women on the set, and this is not far worse then Clinton.

I mysel dont like that too much, but this crap that he should be investigating and charge is just plain stupid.
If these women really found what he did offensive they should have said something way before, not wait untill 4 days, and in some cases 2 days before the election to come foward. There is no time to figrure out who is telling the truth and who is not.

Because they want to hurt Arnold's chances in the campaign to the utmost, or at least the people who held on to this info until it was too late to discuss it properly wanted that. It's a completely legit campaign issue IMO, but the timing takes away from the seriousness of the charges and turns them into another Gray Davis last minute smear. Too bad really.

There's no doubt about Bill Clinton. While he was president he slept with an employee (intern in this case, while he was destroying the careers of military people who were guilty of the same offense) and physically propositioned (in a similar way to Arnold) a would be employee who came asking for a job. He did the same things when he was Governor of Arkansas.

People who molest women make perfect representatives for other people who molest women. I don't think these guys are fit to hold office necessarily, but they get to hold office if they win the election regardless of whether they are fit or not. This is why this sort of thing needs to come out early in the electioneering, while there is still time to debate the issue and get the facts straight. Dumping this on the agenda in the last minute deserves a very severe scrutiny.

My argument exactly during the Clinton mess. And Clinton's hypocrisy was boundless, as he made points with feminist groups by hounding military men out of the armed forces who were guilty of similar offenses. They lost their careers over that. Clinton should have led by example and resigned, but since he didn't I hold a special place for him in the blacj recesses of my heart.

Here's an interesting viewpoint on the issue from Susan Estrich:

                    =======================
                    A Deplorable October Surprise
                    By Susan Estrich
So this is the October surprise? The Los Angeles Times headline that Arnold Schwarzenegger groped and humiliated women?

None of the six women interviewed by The Times filed legal charges. Four of the six were quoted anonymously. Of the two who were named, one, a British television hostess, had told her story to Premiere magazine years ago, and it has been widely known and largely ignored. The other recounts an alleged incident of fondling at Gold's Gym nearly 30 years ago.

The anonymous incidents occurred on movie sets and consist of touching a woman's breast in the elevator, whispering vulgarities and pulling a woman onto his lap. Though emphasizing that not everything in the stories was accurate, the candidate responded Thursday with an apology: "Yes, it is true that I was on rowdy movie sets and I have done things that were not right which I thought then was playful, but now I recognize that I offended people." And he pledged to treat women with respect if elected.

As a professor of sex discrimination law for two decades and an expert on sexual harassment, I certainly don't condone the unwanted touching of women that was apparently involved here. But these acts do not appear to constitute any crime, such as rape or sodomy or even assault or battery. As for civil law, sexual harassment requires more than a single case of unwelcome touching; there must be either a threat or promise of sex in exchange for a job benefit or demotion, or the hostile environment must be severe and pervasive.

But none of these women, as The Times emphasizes, ever came forward to complain. The newspaper went looking for them, and then waited until five days before the election to tell the fragments of the story.

What this story accomplishes is less an attack on Schwarzenegger than a smear on the press. It reaffirms everything that's wrong with the political process. Anonymous charges from years ago made in the closing days of a campaign undermine fair politics.

Facing these charges, a candidate has two choices. If he denies them, the story keeps building and overshadows everything else he does. Schwarzenegger's bold apology is a gamble to make the story go away. It may or may not work.

But here's my prediction, as a Californian: It's too late for the Los Angeles Times' charges to have much impact. People have made up their minds. This attack, coming as late as it does, from a newspaper that has been acting more like a cheerleader for Gray Davis than an objective source of information, will be dismissed by most people as more Davis-like dirty politics. Is this the worst they could come up with? Ho-hum. After what we've been through?

To his credit, Schwarzenegger apologized for "behaving badly." So should the Los Angeles Times.

                    • hmm Susan Estrich wrote that? Suprising. I expected it would be some republican woman. Susan is pretty smart on politics. She is sometimes on some Fox news shows, and a frequent guest on Sean Hannity's radio show. Yes I listen to Sean Hannity even though he's a Bush fanboy. I'm not a conservative by any stretch of the imagination. But conservative talk shows can be entertaining.

Still. This does constitute sexual harrassment.

I don't care though. I would vote for Arnold if I could.

                      Comment

                      • Dissident, Susan said the same thing on one of the talk shows. This, coupled with the NOW president saying she appreciated Arnie's acknowledgement and apology, and would vote for him as a feminist and a Democrat, will give me some pause the next time anyone attacks these two people as being simple shills for the Democrat party in the mold of Ariana Huffington.

Let me also say that I saw Arnold's wife's speech in support of his candidacy on Friday. I was impressed, not so much with her description of Arnold, but with Maria. She ought to run for president one day. She is tremendous.

Then we could have president Shriver and Governor Schwarzenegger as first couple. Could be a lot worse, if you know what I mean.

                        • The thing is I dont think these charges amount to very much. These are very minor things and to my knowledge no one has been convicted of a crime because of the things Arnold did. Again I dont like it, but I think that he knows better now.

Clinton did the same things and more, he had sex with numerous women, and there are women who claim that he raped them or sexual harrassed them. These charges are far worse then what the women that were quoted in the LA Times are charging Arnold with. Also these women did not come foward on their own, they had to be found by the LA Times.

I dont see how people cant see through this. What the LA Times did is smear tatics. I know they dont like Arnold at all, and are pro Davis in their coverage.

Arnie is a pro-abort, and as a republican, is the best possible candidate for the NOW for the precise reasons you specify.

They lose nothing by supporting Arnold.
