Would have considered voting for American because of Seinfeld and Simpsons, but just can't vote against Red Dwarf...

Seinfeld, Simpsons and Cheers make a strong case for American humour.

          But not strong enough...

How well are the Simpsons translated in other countries? Like I'm assuming all the Finns and other Europeans are familiar with both versions, at least somewhat and would be able to settle a discussion my roommate and I were having earlier.

Do jokes carry over well into other languages? And if not, which kinds don't?

British comedy just has an 'edge' to it. American comedy seems to be set in nice places where funny things happen, whereas British comedy is set in awful places where funny things happen.

Wrong. He was a prime minister in Yes, Prime Minister.

Jay Leno just isn't funny, Mike Bullard is in the negatives.

I agree though, it can sometimes be fun watching him make an ass of himself and be the only one to laugh at his own jokes.

His show is practically a parody of it's self.

I am now watching "Yes, minister"

I am loving it.. the insight is superbe. The episode about how they need to keep running a hospital without patients ... I was watching it with the eek smilie on my face. Bloody convincing

And I love all the euro stereotypes and french bashing and italian bashing and all

because there is self-irony with it ofcourse, he became prime minister defending british sausages from standardisation by EU

                              Yes, prime minister
