I have to cast my vote for british comedy. I love Are You Being Served, Keeping up Apperances, Thin Blue Line, Bless Me Father etc....... I'm a regular watcher of BBC America
Ditto. Keeping up Appearences and Monty Python are the two funniest items of entertainment ever in the history of humanity. That Iraqi Minister of Information program comes in a close second.

British humor is more intelligent and less "contrived". Seinfeld and The Simpsons are pretty good, but thats it.

How could you have a poll like this without including Japanese comedy?

No one does whacked out comedy quite like the Japanese.

M Python is the only one worth mentioning, when talking about british comedy... but it doesn't even come close to American comedy... The best American comedy is not to be found in series, but in movies...
This space is empty... or is it?

Really? I see you mentioned films..
What about Peter Sellers or Charlie Chaplin? They don't come close to American Comedy? I beg to differ.

Seinfeld is arguably the best sitcom ever, so I voted for American comedy (even though many other British shows are quite good).

I don't know Peter Sellers... and Chaplin is funny, but not that funny

Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.

Isn't that an actual quote from the Blackadder IV? The WW1-scene was the best one from the four, IMO.

I'm a huge Seinfeld fan now. Downloaded 70+ episodes over the past couple of months.

Only another 100 or so to go
If I'm posting here then Counterglow must be down.

                          Hmm. Let's see:

                          Memorable British TV humour:
Monty Python, Mr. Bean, Blackadder, I'm Alan Partridge, Absolutely Fabulous, The Royle Family, Keeping Up Appearances, Fawlty Towers, Jeeves and Wooster, Benny Hill Show, Hale & Pace.

I've heard good thing about Red Dwarf and Not Nine O'clock news. Haven't seen them yet.

                          US TV humor I've liked:
Simpsons, Seinfeld, Late Night Shows (especially Conan), Frasier, Friends, Family Guy, South Park.

Ding, decisive victory to the Brits!

                              British humour is great.

I like some of the American sitcoms too, like Seinfeld or Friends.

I like humour, I don't mind if it comes from Brazil, USA, UK or Iraq.
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.
