  • I agree that a massive diplo hit due to a Krill-enforced resource trade is a non-starter. I also don't see a chance in heck for PAL to agree to a peace deal.

I think the plan to ask for the turn to be replayed exactly as it was, including trade deals, and then if that's not possible asking for a firm trade timeline with marble-gems and then wine-ivory makes the most sense.

    • Just a fyi; if the game has to be reloaded for any reason, each team has to replay the turn identically to how it did beforehand, all moves, all builds, all diplo the same, except for the reason for the reload which has to play out in a "Legal" manner. So the game should be replayed with any deals that were enacted in game re-enacted in the reload, so the ivory trade in this instance should take place.

(It has to be this way to stop teams screwing about and asking for reloads to gain an upperhand).
You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

          Hi PAL,

Just to re-confirm that we'll have Maths next turn (T112) as scheduled, which will allow you to send us CS as agreed.

          Cheers,

          Swiss
          ... and the reply ...

Sounds great Swiss. You still thinking five turns more until horseback?

          Have a good day,

          • Checked the game, and I'm sure will be done with HBR by T116, maybe even T115 and I'll email PAL with that info later.

              • I suggest we ask PAL for Horses if ours get sabotaged. Seeing as Rabbits have Spears (and don't have cats to flank) then I see them rather doing without Horses than Copper. It's better for us to train HAs than axes/spears as we have none of the former and plenty of the latter. We can also repair the copper and complete the pending spear in A1 before Imperio can sabotage it again. Thoughts?

EDIT: PS - Ad interim, we can build archers in Cape Town (our best city defender), or even put a turn or two towards half-price Walls (to be completed the turn Imperio arrives with cats).

                • Lets do it with some redundancy.
Asking PAL for copper gift next turn and asking Templars for copper vs wine as well. If both agree we go for the Templar trade, keeping the PAL option (horses) for later. If only one agrees, we have metal from next turn, which is vital. If they both decline, we are somewhat screwed.

                  Hi PAL,
recent aggressive actions from Imperio has seen our sole resource of metal being sabotaged. As you know we were expecting and preparing for a near future aggressive move from Imperio. However, the loss of the copper throws us back. We would like to call in our favor with you (Horses in time of need) and kindly ask you to gift us copper for the next 10 turns from T113 onward.
We hope we can count on your support in our struggle to fend off Imperios increasing aggressiveness.
                  Thanks

To be sent asap, if nooone objects.

                  • Please don't send this yet. Let's try to agree co-ordinated actions in the crisis thread (by tomorrow) then go from there.

                    • Alternatively we can try to get metal for 10 turns now and offer wine for horses (not gems) once our horses get disconnected.
After all, PAL is not really in need of more military, no that they are facing a Prince AI.

Yeah, Rabbits couldn't have picked a better time to quit Their best move all game by far

That said, we have to allow for the fact that they probably have units in production right now, so how about we suggest that they gift us Copper on the same turn as we trade them HBR, so they can focus on HAs to quickly mop up the AI Rabbits? Does anyone think they'll buy into that?

We could even direct them to Rabbits' metal seeing as it's only an AI.

                        • Our top priority should be getting metal next turn so Cape Town can resume production of metal units. Once we have HBR we will go full steam ahead on Horse Archers.
Don't worry about PAL, they will have plenty of resources very soon.

                            This is the trade option.
We are only waiting for Templars to finish T112, so this should go out soonest. Pal mentioned they have only limited play-time available. Would be a shame if they played their turn before we can decide what to send.

                            • I think we should go for the favour option first, then sweeten the deal if they come up with excuses, so something like...

                              Hi PAL,
You may recall our gift of horses when you were having trouble with 'barbarians'. Well, we're having trouble with our own 'barbarians' who have sabotaged our Copper, so we would like you to return the favour by gifting us Copper for 5 turns from T113.

We look forward to your favourable reply.

                              Cheers,

                              Team RB
                              If they grumble we:

                              1. remind them that cats are good units

If they still moan then we:

                              2. remind them that they'll have HBR and HAs will be much better for mop-up.

and if they still don't give in we:

                              3. offer wines for copper.

That's it for me tonight, so someone else will need to send whichever text is chosen.
