Hi Swiss,

PAL has not told me to pull the trigger on that proposed trade. Marble does us zero good right now. We aren't building wonders. Since neither team seems to have a burning need for any of the resources involved, I guess it's in limbo for now.

We intend to equip Realms with Ivory for elephants though, don't worry.

Since you're apparently working on other things we can work on a Marble trade later if it makes sense. Of course we'd then gift you Wine as soon as we have it hooked up in four turns. Is that acceptable?

If you send us this turn (T110) the ivory resource as promised, we will gift you our wines as soon as we connect our second source, which should be ~4 turns (the mapmaker put them under a forest for some reason). We'll each be gifting each other a resource, so essentially doing an ivory for wines trade. We trust this even trade is acceptable for PAL.

Marble for Ivory. Ivory is strategic for both teams as soon as you can get HBR (for both teams). Gems for Wines.

Hmmmm, yeah that's probably not the response we wanted, but I guess we might have expected it. I think we have to go for it in the short term and then renegotiate in 10t or so.

I don't object to that, although it's definitely not what they were saying earlier. Sooner or later, we might want to ask them, "if you consider ivory a strategic resource, why did you trade it to Imperio for gold?"

Agree, they're changing their story a bit, but it's fine since we don't need Marble any longer.

One little chink in the PAL armor - it looks like they actually didn't know Marble doubled HE/NE speed. Notice how they had no use for it until they were reminded by us that Literature and Marble opened up? MP guys rarely (ever?) build those wonders, so they may be facing a bit of a knowledge gap.

Marble for Ivory sounds perfectly reasonable to me. We do have two marbles. Any trades involving the second one are just hypothetical at the moment with uninterested partners. And I agree with Sullla - we need that Ivory ASAP for happiness at whatever cost it takes.

And renegotiating that deal later would be bad for us, because once national wonders are built, they will no longer need Marble.
