If it wasn't clear enough already, then surely this indicates that PAL is indeed a one-man-band. Whiplash is going 'all-in' to gain as much advantage as possible in the early going.

As an MP guy, he surely plans to convert the tech lead and land grab into a military campaign. Rabbits building Pyramids only makes this more attractive The question is, when do we think he plans to strike?

I think I'll answer my own question here: if PAL can get to Jumbo-pult without being attacked then they've got their continent in their pocket.

HHm, about that theory that whiplash is playing it alone.
There are at least four different usernames logging for PAL (PAL, PaL, workboat, gitbliss) now and then. Could be it is all the same user of course.

I'm not saying that whiplash is playing alone, but I really think that he's the one dictating the strategy. I really don't see a team coming to an agreement on such a risky strategy.

Is it really that risky? I don't think so. Overexpansion *will* pay off later if the civ is left alone, and if you're playing against teams instead of individual players, early war will be less likely. You will always have some builders on the team who will be against a risky early war, not speaking about those who will point out the loss of diplomatic credit from the other teams.

EDIT: So yes, I too think whiplash may be the only/dominant player on that team.

In my opinion PAL is playing brilliantly, not stupidly - as far as we can tell with our limited knowledge of the other continent, of course. Time will tell, I guess.

That's where we come in

I think one of the first things we do on meeting Rabbits & Banana is to point out our theory on PAL, and what that means for them. Whether they follow up and attack PAL early enough is quite another matter though

Unfortunately, if we are going to attack Templars, we'll have to be nice to other teams. It will not look good if we keep publically accusing one team after another.

Instead, I suggest mentioning in passing during our communication to every team which we communicate with that PAL pulled out of a tech deal with us.

There is an agreement to trade techs between us and PAL ...

But at this stage lets agree, we will trade some variation of Monarchy for Code of Laws … We can iron out the details later.
