  • As of right now, I'm not inclined to come back. I spent an ungodly amount of time on those three major scenarios and I can't dedicate that much time anymore...
    Why?

Besides I'm an old guy (47)
    - that's not much
    - if so, retire and spend the rest of your life pleasuring us by inventing new scenarios

and there is a lot of young blood that is more qualified than me to make the next generation of scenarios.

    Nah, look at us

If anyone wants to see if they can fix it, I still have all the files and would gladly pass them to anyone interested.
I guess we can have a look

I did not "rebel", I just burned out on Civ2. It took too much out of my life and that could not be sustained indefinitely so I retired. I truly appreciate that the scenarios, especially Red Front, still live on... it is very encouraging to see that others have enjoyed my work and have been inspired by it.
I am suprised that people consider civ2 scn making or internet activity as something that takes time of their lifes, instead a part of their lifes.
If You were a terrific painter...
    Anyway:
    Come back

              • Gentlemen, this important thread is being spammed to death by an individual who apparently does not know when it is time to quit. Every time someone replies to one of his posts, it only encourages him. The situation is accurately described by part of Case's sig

Aww shucks, it was a matter of good timing.

I´ve been trying to contact various civ2 veterans and managed to contact Captain Nemo and Alex a week or so ago. So when the Red Front redux thread showed up it was quite easy.
Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

                    • Can we all act a bit more like adults here? Nemo has given his wholly understandable reasons for retirement and spamming this thread won't bring him back. The guy left an incredible civ legacy which we have all enjoyed and benefited from; he will probably leave this forum with a pretty poor impression of the current crop of scenario creators..

Anyhoo, back on topic: an early screenie of some of the graphical mods to date - the German offensive in '41. The cities and resources have yet to be changed and feldgrau camo will give way to tricolour cammouflage by 1943. I'm still in two minds about using civ unit flags...

                      • Jaysus, that looks magnificent.

As for the unit flags, how much trouble would it be for you to post the identical screen shot without them?

                            Let us move on -

                            And what a screenie!
                            Nice work, Fairline!

That scene is just the ticket! It has Barbarossa written all over it.
You just know this beast is going to rock...
The final product will be well worthy of Nemo's vision!
