These are good points Dr K. Agricola has opened a thread to discuss the non-graphics related aspects of this mod here:

We need as many people as possible to contribute with game-play related stuff to allow Agricola to do his thing!

Amazing work. but why are some russian tanks and soldiers facing eastwards?
Thanks, and as Curt says one of the cool aspects of ToT is that units face left or right depending on their direction of movement and if they are being attacked. Unfortunately at the start of the scenario all units face right (the default direction) and there is no way of getting round this short of removing and re-placing units. It is kind of appropriate having the Russians with their backs to the Germans at the start given their state of readiness at the outset of Barbarossa

I'm working on suburbs to match the ToT cities I sent you, Fairline - Should be ready tomorrow
Excellent! Thanks Curt, I'm looking forward to them

I'm taking a break from units to have a go at the Winter terrain. I've got some nice rips I took from the new Axis and Allies game which will form the basis of the snow tiles. I need some fir trees as well; anybody got any 16-bit ones?

    • I'll take a look for some in my archive-

      Failing that I'll make them!
Do you need the whole 'Terrain2' set or just a set of three for 'Terrain1'...

      Let me know!

      • Thanks Curt - anything you can do terrain- or city-wise is greatly appreciated. I've had a go at winter versions of the terrain2 dessiduous (is that how you spell that?) trees. I've tried to keep the scale and layout that of Favoured flight's summer ones:

        • Here's what I've got so far with the same old screenie. It needs your cities and suburbs, a winter version of Catfish's sea and some smaller-scale fir-trees. Shall I e-mail you the terrain files I have so far?

The snow may be too muddy - any thoughts?

          • I like the new winterized trees as well as the snow tiles. This muddy touch makes the snowy terrain look very realistic!

              Great job, Fairline!

              • Ja, ein frischen und frohlichen krieg !

One point though, some of the ocean squares are "unfrozen" while others are not. Why's that?
Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

                • well the ocean (by Catfish BTW and mighty fine it is) is unfrozen while I've made the terrain2 river tiles frozen. Nemo made large rivers and some lakes from ocean terrain, and I guess large rivers would still be free-flowing in winter.

                  • Damn fine work!

I will tweak them and see what I can do, Fairline...
Though those trees would be hard to improve upon!

I notice the lack of my WW2 cities -
Do you want new cities made for RF-ToT?
                    The suburbs I am making are closely following Nemo's layout;
So I could create larger chunky city graphics.
If you have cities planned yourself, I can hang fire and just make the burbs!

                    • There are 2 types of trees Curt - I'm using these I've made here for the terrain2 ones which lose their leaves in winter. The Nemo fir trees in terrain1 are what I'm after replacing; they need to be smaller to scale them with my winter trees and Fav. Flight's summer terrain2 trees. Don't worry - I'll have a go at these myself.

As for your cities - they are excellent. I haven't got round to replacing the Wcities file is the only reason they are missing from the screenies. I'd really appreciate those suburbs as well Cheers mate!

I have not forgot about a city task you set me -

I am working on fastasy units just now (as well as the RF burbs!)...so I will get your cities done too!

                            • The winter terrain looks great, really. The mud is a good representation of the actual terrain. As for the ocean terrain, did the bonus tiles have any different shield or food bonus during the winter? If so, and the bonus was lower, would patches of floating ice be a nice touch?
