Several people have copies of the RF stuff fortunately. I've lost all my other graphics though, which is a bit disheartening. There was a huge amount I didn't post here or at CDG, and I can't even get hold of the CDG stuff anymore. The ****ty CD it was backed up on is a dud and won't read on my computer. Kinda makes me want to give up

My god, Gareth this is a setback.

As for the will to carry on.... well I have all the unit graphics that you recently sent to me. What else are you missing exactly? The Cities.gif? I believe I have a draft of that as well and some terrains.

Damn - That is a bitter news, Gareth!

But please do not give up, as I have most of your older
and perhaps most of the CDG unit stuff in some shape or form.

(being a dedicated fan, I have been busy saving all I can find!)

Dude:
I would go as far as to burn as many files as I
have onto CDs and post them too if you wish it.
As a fellow civ man, I will do as much as it takes to get
your all published graphics (up till xmas) back to you.

Say the word and it will be done, mate!

I still have all the items you sent me for RF too.

Basically, your retirement would be a terrible blow to the community.

Between us all, I am confident we can salvage at least some of the situation!

Kind of uncanny how these things happen. About a month ago my own hard drive crashed. Fortunately I wasn't working on a masterpiece such as youself and I had all my necessary files saved on a 20 gb hard drive just in case. I hope that enough can be salvaged to rekindle your spirits.

There is a fair bit on the Web about recovering damaged/unreadable CD's.

I did a quick Mamma search using

"recover damaged CD download free"

and got some interesting hits. There is freeware and trial software available.

There is also advice available. One of the points they make is to use the burner to try to read the CD. It may be worth a try.

Don't give up hope yet.
