Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
Using the TOT nolimits patch does not allow a scen created with TOT to exceed 2048 units. The 2048 limit can be exceeded only if a scen is both created and played using the TOT nolimit patch.
Any conversion of RF to TOT would still be faced with the units limit problem unless the number of units at the start of the scen is reduced.

Boco has been making slow but steady progress on his highly unique and original EL AWRENS v2. That may seem irrelevant for this thread, but I've been keeping my fingers crossed hoping that he will be able to follow up on the offer he made last year on this thread. The following quote has been edited to remove a sick joke and for relevance.

If everyone else runs away, I could give it a stab. However, EAv2 is my first priority for the next month or so. I know it's not much of an offer, but maybe it'll spur ............. someone more competent.
Tech if this remains untaken after WoC and EAv2 are released, would you be interested in splitting duties on this? Or does the contest loom next?

Please accept my most abject apologies for having put you on the spot. That was not my intention. I really have been hoping that eventually a topnotch designer could find the interest and the time to do the TOT conversion as well as fixing some events that do not work properly. I think that by exploiting the additional features available in TOT events, the Stalingrad/Caucasus offensive, possibly the Kursk offensive, and definitely the defense of Germany can be made reasonably similar to historical events.

Apologies, abject or other, aren't needed at all, but a correction is. Captain Nemo is topnotch. Your nominee falls in the slow and spammy category.
Please do not treat this as a troll for accolades, but honestly, my ability to improve upon the captain's masterwork is suspect. 'Fixing' anyone's scenario at the level of play is very hard. When that someone is Nemo, well...
I gotta admit though, having an avid thorough playtester makes the job much more attractive. You realize it would require testing many flawed versions.
What might work is to put you (or a committee) in the driving seat in terms of deciding what needs improving. I'd just be a technician, making it work.
I hope it can be finished, no need to rush though. I would only be able to play it around christmas.

I'm bumping this because I have an idea about trying to tackle Red Front 1.4's "too many units bug." Back around the time of my last post in this thread (maybe my only post...), I got excited because I thought I had fixed the too many units bug while keeping Nemo's original scenario ideas in place. I just experimented with taking Red Front 1.5's scenario file and combining it with all of Red Front 1.4's rules, units, etc files. This works perfectly. The Red Front 1.5 scenario file has fewer initial units and the old Red Front 1.4 files keep Nemo's original vision. But, there was a problem...
I got overzealous in my preparations for the Ural buildup and built refugees like crazy in the beginning turns, which resulted in my hitting the "too many units bug" again. I was frustrated and didn't pick up the game until tonight.
My idea is simple and might help to get closer to solving the problem. By my rough calculations, there are about 80 ocean mine units in the game. Would it be possible to maybe replace these units with a form of terrain to serve as the same function? There would only have to be a few mine units to serve as entry and exit points for ships. I'm not really sure how the AI would handle this, though. If this wouldn't work, what about using impassable terrain in ToT? Using this idea to cut out 80 units and combining the scenario file from Red Front 1.5 with the other files from Red Front 1.4, might do the trick.
