  • ATTENTION!!!

Ok. there's been a lot of talk about a lot of stuff. Mainly map choice. In order to sort this out we are going to vote again. That means, that EVERY POST after this one will contain a vote and nothing but a vote. ANYTHING not a vote for any of these alternatives = a serious chunk of ill will directed at you from a very frustrated playergroup who want to make a proper clear and unified decision.

IF you are unhappy with your alternatives summarize your suggestion SHORT, more than 10 words is too much. MAXIMUM 1 suggestion per player.

    1. Earth. Resource-tweaked by Ozzy
    2. Random (terra/continents/etc). Resource-tweaked by Ozzy
    3. Don't care, let's do this!!

    And again
ANYTHING not a vote for any of these alternatives = NERVE STAPLING!!!

    VOTES

    1. Earth. Resource-tweaked by Ozzy: 2, Deity, Heraclitus
    2. Random. Resource-tweaked by Ozzy: 2, Trev, Capo
    3. Don't care: 3, Toni, Lzprst, Aussie_Lurker

          • I think you guys talk about different things when talking about tech brokering.

Civ:BtS has an option: "No Tech Brokering"
If it's turned on, you can't give/trade techs you didn't invent yourself.

If it's not on, you can.
(unless "no tech trading" has been turned on)

I wonder if people who talk about "I don't want tech brokering" mean that they want the option on or off.

            • Ok Guys, I have received 9 lists.

              - I need to know if you guys will or will not include New World starts.

              - I need to know the max numbers of civs you guys want in Europe (incl. England)

If you guys will not play new world starts and only 3 (incl. England) european civs, then I'm able to figure it out. For the 3 europe (incl england) civs I have to pick someone's 3rd choise though.

I'm going to send one of you guys a PM because he didn't include a leader.

              • cybershy. i understand what you're trying to do and I appreciate it, but right now, NOTHING is allowed debated until we've finished the map vote.

                AND THAT GOES FOR EVERYONE!

vote or die! all other details will be sorted out later. the end of wednesday is final vote day. that should be enough time. if people are not in here once during the week before game start they're not getting a say. we need thursday to sort out every other little detail.

The vote is on. look up a few posts where the big lettering is and VOTE. and nothing but VOTE.

and dont worry about it hera. it was just a test run, and as such we figured it wasnt important enough to call and wake you for. now, if you change your apology to a vote, all is forgiven. good morning by the way.

                • I am so sorry people, this is not going to usually happen, I’m usually at home during the weekends, and have not trouble getting up early. My flatmate came to the apartment at an impossible hour waking me up at 3.00, I should have just stayed awake till six.

Edit: VOTE: Ozzy's earth map dammit

                      - slightly edited because of context.

We had a heated discussion today during the testing and I'd like to remind Asmo and Capo that I posted this several days ago.

My constant mentioning of Earth map was in response to lz's asttempts to get a vote finalised.

But as you can see I don't really mind and I'm more than happy for the newcomers to get what they want.

                          • You know, I'd be a lot less annoying if you guys didn't put me in these situations....

Hopefully I speak for a lot more people than myself when I say this whole "chairman" idea is foolish. I understand the pressure Lz is under, but he's the one who signed up for the job and I don't really remember a consensus on this job being appropriate. But I digress; look man, CS is trying to help, and its not that difficult to tally votes. Besides that he also needs to know what type of map we are playing on and the rules before he can assemble the list.

I know we're voting on the map right now, but I can't vote on the map without the rules. It pigeonholes me to vote Earth and then be told after I pick Earth that I can't be the tribe I wanted to be.

So, is it Earth with Terra rules or Earth without Terra rules.

Capo this vote is about Earth map or Random only.

If we choose random, we have to vote on the map type as well. I don't see a reason why we couldn't, if others agreed with you, vote on whether we should have only old world starts like I argue in the other HOTW12 thread or have new world civs like you say. I do have to say that the most seem to prefer historical old world only starts, so if you really want to play a new world civ, you may be better off voting for random.

I posted another response in the other thread.
Please don't post here until voting is done.
