I'm flexible on this, Cyber can give me any civ in my PM and I'll be ok. It’s a good idea though; It might make the first time a bit easier for new players.

I highly recommend that. If everyone picks European civs then things aren't gonna work. I'd strongly suggest that at a minimum you pick two different continents with your three picks (ideally 3 different continents).

And OLD world. So Europe, Asia, Africa, mid-east.

I think there should be a limit per continent but who is in and who is out should be decided by CS foremost (and if I have a problem with his decision I'll tell him and he'll rework it). When he decides which civ people should pick he should think about how much room on the map there is.

The sooner you get him (and he gets me) the picks the better for the map.

Wouldn't it be cool if you guys finally reach the Americas, after having lost millions of lives in old world wars, only to find out that Ozzy and me have highly developped civilizations overthere, while you guys didn''t even know we were in this game

I'll consider the newbie/veteran thing, when selecting the civs, I'll also keep the starting locations in mind, to prevent overcrowding. I may contact people over PM if there are problems.

Sorry, a lot of things were discussed here recently.

I kind of lost track of that, I'll PM deity and you with my contact info in a few minutes. Would it be a good idea to PM glorius chairman L too?

              Pitboss rules.

I think you already had me crossed out of this one folks - but that timing does not work for me. And after the connection issues of the latest game - I am not sure any time involving a MP game works.

Did I say that pitboss rules?

Yes we are playing an Earth map - so you have to pick your 1st three choices and pm them to CS.

Also Pinchak you said you were ok with Sat EST midnight - 3am right?

We start next Sat the 26th

We are planning on testing tomorrow our connections during the game time slot can you make it PINCHAK?

                  • I think the time slot of this game is pretty good for me, so I will join it, late Sunday afternoon here, generally next 3 months I expect to be pretty reliable, maybe miss 1 in 3 after that, although these games should hopefully not go that long if people move quickly.

                          • What does that have to do with being "realistic"?

Excellent. I think 7 players is perfect.

I'm thinking 2 in Europe, 2 in Africa, 2 in Asia and one in the mideast would be perfect.

                              • what about Arvrcan and Asmodeus? and Aussie Lurker?

and we haven't really decided everything yet, things just keep snowballing. what I was trying to decide is whether to use the earth map or not. now that it seems decidedly so, I say we should perhaps discuss, BRIEFLY, whether we want a Terra style Earth map, by that I mean Earth as is, divided in 2 hemispheres by ocean. OR a continents kind of game where there are passable routes between the old and new world.

and we need, if any discussion is warranted, to decide if there should be civs in the new world.

another thing we need to decide, civ distribution. I'm not sure how big the large map is. 2 civs in europe isnt that much. you wont have any of the competition that you had historically with only 2 civs. I consider perhaps 4 civs in europe, 2 in east asia, and the remaining 3 spread among the mideast and africa. provided arvcran, asmodeus and aussie lurker are playing...
