  • Conclusion:
    America - Lincoln
    America - Washinton

    is NOT allowed.
If two civs want America, then only one of them can have it. (in which case I'll give it to the person who requested it first)

    Example: (fictional)

Player A sends me a PM on 01-18-2008:
    1. America (Lincoln)
    2. The Netherlands (Willem van Oranje)
    3. Zulu (Monty)

Player B sends me a PM on 01-19-2008:
    1. The Netherlands (WvO)
    2. America (Lincoln)
    3. Russia (Stalin)

Player C sends me a PM on 01-20-2008:
    1 America (Lincoln)
    2. The Netherlands (WvO)
    3. Carthage (Hannibal)

    Result:
Player A: America (first choise, requested before player C)
Player B: The Netherlands (first choise, requested before Player C)
    Player C: Carthage

    • Good one Cyber

So far since we reestablished nervestapling as a means of expedience we've seen the following votes.

      1. Earth: Deity, Heraclitus 2 votes
      2. Terra: 0 votes
      3. Dontcare: Lzprst 1 votes
      4. Other: 0 votes

Once we decide if we're playing the Earth map, we will discuss such things as map tweaking, starting positions etc. I gather that there is general consensus in favor of historical starts. But we'll put it to a vote if necessary. As for now, pick your civs and PM them to CS. IF you want different civs depending on Earth or Terra, send the following schematic.

"Dearest Cybershy, I want to play the following civs.

      If Earth map
      1. Banana-land
      2. Chickenpoxia
      3. USA

      If Terra-map
      1. The Hippie-Colonies
      2. Banana-land
      3. Coffe-Junkies

Thank you so much for helping us sort things out Cyber."

Also, Cyber, Shaka is in charge of the Zulu's not Monty...

Hence the 'fictional' statement I made

Dearest Cybershy, I want to play the following civs.

I missed that statement in your PM

        • Just to make it perfectly clear, I am in favor of historical starts.
Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”
The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.

how will we know when we get our civs?

I already did this but I forgot to say Dearest and Thankyou! Should I re-send it??!!

NOTE: With your Earth map choices you can only pick civs that have historical starts in the OLD world. So you can't pick Amerca, Inca etc. You can on the Terra choices though I suppose...

This is something new are we going with this?

Doing this may give us some incentive to explore i guess.

                  • I still have to let CS know my choice of civ for this game.

This is dependent on map type/size. Did we ever come to a consensus regarding this?

Sorry, I just assumed that if we use an Earth or Terra map because that's the concept behind those maps - and the fun too?

                        • @ Pinchak

Yes we are playing an Earth map - so you have to pick your 1st three choices and pm them to CS.

Also Pinchak you said you were ok with Sat EST midnight - 3am right?

We start next Sat the 26th

                          • Ok, an Earth map then. I heard someone suggesting limits (something like 3 europe civs, 3 asian, etc...)

We adhearing to this distribution? Should I choose one civ from each landmass?

Saturdays at midnight work for me. I will be there on the 26th.

If someone could answer my question concerning landmass civ caps that would help me alot as far as my 3 choices goes...

                            • I'm just thinking that first in best dressed with Cyber may not be the best way for the newcomers.

I think my PM was first to Cyber but I'm a veteran Diplo gamer.

I'd be happy that Cyber used his discretion in making sure the newcomers got their prefrred choice if the other diplo vets are cool with that?

                              • Send the civs (specify the leaders as well) you would like to have, but only old world civ's.

I propose CS gives us a report on overcrowding if there is any, and people who aren't dead set on playing Euro or ME civs can send alternative suggestions or CS can just priorities since I'm sure that with 3 civs per list there will be some flexibility.

                                Example:
If there was overcrowding or under population and If I chose:

1.Germany (I was the first, but there is some other guy with Germany on first place)
                                2.Japan
                                3.Egypt

He would just give me Japan or less preferably Egypt.

BTW some people were talking about connectivity tests this weekend, can someone give me an update on that?
