Real: different people for all the techs.
If just one, Christopher Lee as Dooku.

Joke: Jackie Broyles and Dunlap from Red State Update.

    Though Walken would be funny.

Personally, I'd go with a cheaper voice actor (even one with little fame) so long as he/she can deliver the opening narration well.

Then I'd use the savings to hire a variety of voices to do the other technology quotes.

No offense to Nemoy, but his voice acting kinda got repetitive after several play throughs

Yes. Even if Patrick Stewart would be superb, we already have one Star Trek narrator.

What about someone from Stargate? Richard Dean Anderson? It would be great to have O'Neil's style quotes

After watching the most recent trailer, I could see Peter Cullen doing it too.

I could definitely see Christopher Lee as the narrator for certain techs.

I remember seeing him in the show "Ivanhoe" as the Grand Master of the Knights Templar. Someone came in to greet him, and he simply pointed to the ground and boomed "Pray!"

So you can see an example of Robert Powell's considerable talent, here's a link to a poignant youtube clip of Robert Powell in Jesus of Nazareth, including the Triumphal Entry, Cleansing the Temple, and his confrontation with the Pharisees ("Destroy this Temple...").

Enjoy the videos and music that you love, upload original content and share it all with friends, family and the world on YouTube.

If you don't want to see the whole video, I'd start it up at about 2 minutes, 30 seconds.

The reason I suggest Robert Powell is because he is a very talented voice actor who would not be potentially very expensive to hire, unlike say, Morgan Freeman.

Before I clicked on the thread and read the responses, I was thinking Al Gore. I still think he'd be great, but WOW - Morgan Freeman. The perfect choice. Female? Sigourney Weaver would sound good - can't think of any other Hollywood women that would suit as well as her.

                  Cate Blanchett, perhaps?

I still think Christopher Walken would be awesome.

For the other suggestions... most of them are actors and actresses. Other than simple name recognition, honestly, a good actor does not necessarily make a good orator/speaker/narrator.

Anthony Hopkins for one of the voices definitely.

Heh, Robert Powell sure does. You should hear him do the Beatitudes or the Lord's Prayer.

                            This one's a no-brainer. My pick is:

Dan LaFontaine (aka the "In a World Where..." guy from movie trailer voice work. He also did an insurance company commercial, I forget which one.)
                            Civis pacem parabellum

I'm surprised no one mentioned Sean Connery... The laser quote would be great:

"No, I expect you to DIE, Mr. Bond!"

Another interesting choice would be Christopher Lloyd.
                              "Make Haste Slowly."

First choice James Earl Jones. But then thought John Wayne would sound hilarious - if we could get an impersonator...
