  • Yeah, I have more virtual console games than I do wii games...

I was pretty ticked until I found my second wiimote and second nunchuk, it took quite a while to find them.

My next purchase will be SSX Blur, but that is still a month away, they do need to come out with games that arent party games.

            • I'm happy having a console that's mostly there to keep guests entertained. In depth single player games I prefer to play on the PC. Shallow multiplayer games like party games and arcade games are fun with the Wii.

It plays the backlog of Gamecube games. If you never got a GC you can pick up some of the games for dirt cheap. I've got some of those and several Virtual Console games. Bomberman, Street Fighter II, Toejam & Earl, Gunstar Heros are all on there.

It's a console for casual gamers, but I think there's some value to that. It's something where it's easy to find common ground with a wide range of people, and it's not very expensive. It wouldn't be my primary gaming platform, but it's good at what it sets out to do.

That's the same for all consoles. Actually I might get one for when young relatives come around.

                • Got Wii on monday. Great fun, and I'm constantly reminded my arms aren't well trained. Got Zelda at once and started playing a little yesterday. Man, I knew I sucked at games, but Zelda really rubs it in. I'm in the first real task, where I'm supposed to resque that little boy, but I can't find the keys I need. I have found a place I can jump upon a pillar, but when I try to jump to the second, Link jumps too long and falls down. And I can't find out how to jump shorter... Well, a friend of mine who is a bit better is visiting today, so hopefully he'll help me.

                    • I Was told it was easy. I borrowed the game + a GC from a freind, but can't play it because my TV is to old (the connectors!).

I can get a much better TV for $200, but I don't use my TV much so am having to think about it.

Borrow a VCR from a friend... All VCR have RF modulator built-in, that way you will be able to plug your Gamecube RCA cable into the VCR... and plug the VCR to the T.V. with one Coaxial cable.

I spent forever doing that too. Those pillars aren't supposed to be used until later.

I see. I did find the solution though. I had already been there very late the night before(which probably is the reason), but in a mysterious way I missed the box right in front of me.
