  • Got SSX: Blur this weekend. Really love it. Loved the previous games (I've played Tricky and SSX3 only). It is a hard game to pick up and play, the different controls and movements take some getting used to-for me it took a bit to land tricks.

Highly recommend as a rental, and if you like the previous a must buy. Very fun. Very fun multiplayer as well.

The music I'm not too into, when your just beginning, it doesn't sound that great really choppy.

        • My bundle came with Zelda and Monkey Ball, as well as two I have yet to play (Rayman, Elebits).

Love Z & MB, looking forward to the other two, especially since my bundle also came with an extra controller.

          • That actually sounds like a package worth getting, compared to some of the other ones I"ve seen.

So far the only game that was written for the Wii is WiiPlay and WiiSports. The others at least started, if not are complete ports, of Gamecube games. The Zelda (Twilight Princess) is not the Zelda for the Wii, that's going to be even more awesome.

I'm pretty sure the port of Tiger Woods PGA will have some 1:1 in it. Especially for the putting.

              • There've been some vocal complaints from developers on the use of motion control in games recently. Was interesting.

As a developer I can understand why: Now they have to actually make the games fun, not just an impossibly confusing series of button mashes. This puts more demand on the developer/designer and they don't like having the spotlight on them in a way that shows how empty the games are.

I, for one, don't regret my Wii at all. I have come home and found my wife and 4-year old son playing for hours. My wife has actually asked me if I wanted to play after the kids go to bed. Nothing play like the Wii.

The simple act of holding the Wii Remote while playing Zelda is much more comfortable and natural than anything else I've played (And, unlike others, I have played all three systems - at friends houses).

If Nintendo can keep up with demand I think the Wii will make big strides. Yes, there will always be people that have to have the flashy splashy stuff so the 360 will be around for a while. If for nothing more than something to compete with. If I want flashy I have a 4600+ with a 7500 for that (well, I will when I get my tax return ).

The thing I don't see happening is Sony recovering well from this. The single thing that turned me off was the price $800 for something you can play when you get home! Now, from what I understand, they pretty much have to cost that much so how do you drop price to a resonable level (~$400) 6 mos. after launch?

I technically own all three, but the Wii is in Calgary right now with the SO. But I played it for a weekend at my apartment. I'm not sure who you're trying to address with your point.

Hmm, I've not had this particular issue. They don't have the finesse to putt very well in Golf but I figured that to be something they left raw on purpose.

I never saw this response. You had been asked a few times if you'd played and I didn't see a response.

                        • Not only does Nintendo utilize the retarded "friends code" system...it turns out your friend codes are unique to every single game!

                          Brilliant.

                          • Friend codes are annoying. I'm hoping that with them opening it up to Gamespy and 3rd parties, someone else will come up with a better solution.
