I rather liked Sands of Time, but not sure what a 360 version can really add to the earlier console and PC versions.

? They're coming out with a 360 version?
I believe he's looking at Gamecube games to purchase now that he has a Wii.
Though they are re-making the 3rd Ubisoft Prince of Persia for the Wii, we'll see if a new control scheme really adds anything to that game. I'm imagining not...

So, people who have played these GameCube games before, let me know what you thought of them. I'm looking to pick up some of these used, since I never really gave the GC a chance (really just Metroid Prime, a kickass game) before I traded it in for the 360.
Skies of Arcadia
Resident Evil 4
Paper Mario
Eternal Darkness
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
Fire Emblem
Killer7
Harvest Moon
Baten Kaitos
Gladius
Of those i've played, i agree with wiglaf on Killer7 - it's very much as he describes. Still MANY games are made in that style now(on rails shooter): Gears of War/Splinter Cell/Max Payne etc. What it does is add a certain 'manga' coolness to the story telling.
Harvest moon is great, but not eveyones cup of tea. If you want to give it a go, go for Harvest moon:magical melody - this is the latest version, which combines most of the features of all the previous games to provide the most varied game in the series imho.
Fire Emblem is one of my favourite TBS series of recent years. Sadly the GC only has the one version, and it isn't quite as good as the GBA versions imho - but if you want a TBS on Wii, this is a great choice(shame you cant play GBA on Wii like you could on GC).
Skies of Arcadia and Baten Kaitos are great epic rpg's in the console rpg tradition - both worth playing......maybe check on Tales of Symphonia for another decent GC rpg if you haven't played it?
Eternal Darkness was slightly disappointing for me(sometimes the quirky controls+odd camera angles would get on my nerves) - but i didn't get to the end of it so might have missed a great story?
Paper Mario is fun if you like/can put up with mario(he does sufer from having a 'kids game' type of image as a game character). Still i dont regret getting it at all - great game.
Gladius i should have liked, it has elements of turn based combat etc, but it's choice of using day-glo movement/action icons kinda got in the way of the gameplay for me - i wanted to be absorbed into its medieval/Gladiator setting, but the neon effects kept reminding me it was a fairly simple game. Worth checking out if you can find it cheap though.
Possible other GC games to play on your Wii:
Did you play both Metroid Primes?
Having the back catalogue of Zeldas is fun, i dig out the origonal(and Orcarina of Time+Wind Walker) from time to time.
Pikmin(1+2), nice puzzle type games.
Ace Golf(Swingerz Golf in some countries) - very decent golf game, with a japanese arcade game presentation.
Doshin the Giant - better as a kids game maybe(but i like it - it's a good 'chilling' game). A cross between a simple populas game and Black+White, but with a japanese take.
Animal Crossing - another 'kids' game, but it still gets played(not by myself though) after about 2 years, and still throws up the odd surprise.

RE4 is a cracking action game with a silly plot but some great set pieces.
Eternal Darkness is a solid adventure game with a nice style and plot.
Sands of Time combines slick platforming with fun combat. It has a good sense of scale and perspective.

Tales of Symphonia is an excellent game, and I would recommend it highly on the Cube/Wii
Is the X-Box 360 similarly backwards compatible?
"No, but the Wii plays Gamecube games because it's a Gamecube 1.5! The 360 is such an advanced piece of technology, why would you ever want to play anything old on it?"

It's like the dude's top 20 GC games for Wii owners. Now, I've no idea who this guy is, and like I said I never played GC myself, so this might be stupid, but I thought it might be useful nonetheless.

And I can't think of a single good Xbox game that can't be played on the 360, anyway."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
Ben Kenobi: "That means I'm doing something right. "

No, the Xbox games on the Xbox 360 look way better than they did on the Xbox.
