"Far Cry fans out there had better ready themselves for a decidedly uglier jaunt through Jack Carver's shoes than on any other console. Ubisoft obviously put a lot of their efforts into pushing the draw distance in the game rather than polygon count or texture detail, and it shows. When moving quickly, the jungle seems to have all of the detail as in previous Far Cry games, but as soon as you stop moving and look closely, a distinctly muddy look surrounds you.
No one is disputing that the Wii lacks the graphical bells and whistles of its competitors, but that doesn't mean that Wii games have to look worse than Xbox or GameCube games. Nevertheless, several Wii games do. Compared to Far Cry Instincts on the Xbox, Far Cry Vengeance looks fairly awful. Textures everywhere lack detail, and the framerate often dips below 30 fps. Furthermore, the overall polygon count is quite low, making for some awkward looking enemies and environments."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. And this is not the only game with puzzlingly bad graphics on the Wii."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

seems to be selling well state side. It would be nice if the article had the comparitvie figures for the 360, rather than just the PS3. I think the 360 sold pretty well also?
I think its important to realise the Wii isnt about trying to compete with the 360 or PS3.
Its been designed around a completely different marketing model, and hopefuly as developers get better at producing on it, it will really provide something other than the stale "all graphics, little else" that next-gen gaming has mostly become?

Thus far, the Wii has traded "all graphics, little else" for "all gimmicky controls, little else + 2000-era graphics".
At least the powerful consoles have the capability for more in their hardware.
I'll also say this: If Nintendo's controller becomes wildly popular, there's nothing to stop MS or Sony from duplicating said functionality with different technology on their consoles. Nintendo, by contrast, can't upgrade its hardware."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

If it really makes that big of a difference, what's stopping it from propagating?"The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

@Asher is right! But I would point out the fact, that some games, (like Mario Smash, the new pokemon and the new Super Mario)looks better than any gamecube games.
Also looks at the pictures of Cars from gamecube and Wii. At least, the game have better lightning.
At this day; I'm pretty sure the devellopper have devellopped the games for " a similar gamecube hardware". We also know that the devellopper received the development kit late in the summer.
The Wii will never be able to compete against PS3 or 360, but it would outperform the XBOX!! Give it 6 month to one year!bleh

Ultimately, while Far Cry Vengeance for the Wii may not quite be the killer application that first-person shooter that fans are waiting for, it is undoubtedly a whole lot of fun.
And that's good enough for me.

The thing is the developers are already familiar with the architecture. It's the same as the Gamecube with more RAM and faster clocks. And there's still framerate issues.
It's becoming clear that the 3.9GB/s RAM is a bottleneck..."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

@You're right!
But, when I will be at home, i'll send a links to an article and discussion about the Wii GPU and the CPU, to know if they are are just "overclocked" and downsized chipset, yes or no.
At the end, the Wii GPU and CPU, seems to have new features, who was not on the Gamecube.bleh

The consensus is the Wii GPU and CPU are more or less identical to the Gamecube's, but with higher clockspeeds and on a smaller process."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Asher, 360 and PS3 won't be able to just copy the Wii controller this generation if it works out well for Nintendo. Well, let me rephrase that: they could copy it, but it would never be a main feature of their system. Add-Ons historically do poorly, and trying to create new games using a different controller scheme than the one that came with a system is a recipe for not selling many copies of a game. Something like that would have to be included with a console in the next generation.

The reasons that addons tend to fail is they don't offer anything compelling.
If the controller is more than a gimmick, it wouldn't fail."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
