    • Yup, that's the classic controller. You can also use a Gamecube controller to play the virtual console games. What is your point, exactly?

Kuci was talking about how there was an alternative controller for the Wii. My point was it was an oldschool controller, which is the case.

It's not meant to be used in Wii games, only old games.

I've heard from several people who do not like using the Wiimote in Zelda, so this is a bit concerning for me.

        • the controls do take a bit getting used to in Zelda, adn I could definately see someone not liking moving the mote rather than pressing a button.

I guess one could get the gamecube version of Zelda and play it on the wii with the cube controller...but that kinda defeats the point of the wii.

          • It took me a few minutes to get used to the wiimote control in Zelda, but once I did, it feels completely natural. Nothing quite as satisfying as pulling of a spin-attack with just a flick of the wrist!

The classic controller is intended for the older games which don't work with the Wiimote.

The GameCube controller is available for those wanting a more traditional gameplay.

                • Does the Gamecube Controller actually work in all Wii games? I was under the impression it doesn't...

True, let me rephrase: not all games would work with the Wiimote, or not all developers want to use it, so the GC controller is an option.

                    • But it's clearly not going to be very comfortable, nor popular due to it's existence as an optional accessory. Plus there's really no incentive to use a game on the Wii without the Wiimote?

                        2) Ps3's are non-existent/same as Xbox360.
                        3) Wii has 1-2 good titles.

Don't see any reason to pay hundreds for same old, same old. Hopefully someone can convince me otherwise (someone who has "touched 'em").
                        AMEN!

The new generation of video game consoles - prematurely kickstarted by Microsoft - is for mindless consumers with too much money and too much time on their hands.

I agree. If a company isn't going to take the time to actually tailor their game to the Wii, and make good use of the controller, then I don't plan on buying it. Even Zelda: Twilight Princess is disappointing in this aspect (at least from what I've read, I haven't played it yet.)

On a side note, the Internet rumors are that GameStop may be receiving a Wii shipment Dec. 1st (although another rumor says GS Corporate emailed stores announcing no new units until next week, anytime between Sunday through Tuesday).

I know for sure, as I just got the ad, that Wal-Mart will be selling more Dec. 6th, although only 3 are guaranteed per store. I'll have to ask the employees and see how early they would have it; the store is open 24 hours, so maybe at midnight on Sunday? or possibly later, closer til morning. All I know is, I better get one soon. All these f*cking ***** on eBay, taking Wiis/PS3s away from those who would actually want to play them.

Do you realize Wiglaf is never serious?

He's playing the position of a fool and you just "AMEN!"ed that.

It's a little unclear, but it works like this...

Wii Games - Use the Wiimote (No GC controller)
Virtual Console Games, NES Only - Use the Classic Controller, the Wiimote, or a GC controller
Virtual Console Games, SNES, Gensis, TG16 - Classic controller or GC controller.
GC Games played on Wii - GC controller only.

So, no, nobody is making actual Wii games that don't use the Wiimote.
