Asher for the love of god
Xbox360 by gamespot's count has only 5 games above 9.0.
Okay.
0 Wii games are above 9.0. Ditto for PS3.
And, actually, if you take the average of the launch game reviews, the Xbox 360 had the best launch of all consoles. The Wii is the worst in terms of quality.

The highest Wii rated game is an 8.8. The 360 has 10 games as good or better.
The highest PS3 rated game is 8.6. The 360 has 12 games as good or better.
Is this the point you were trying to make, Wiggy?

I've been following the thread for months. Nobody knows exactly what's in the chip, aside from its size. And it's size is about the same as the Gekko in the Gamecube, scaled down linearly due to the process shrink to 90nm.

Perhaps My point is thus:
Xbox 360 = failure after a year
Wii, PS3 = failure after 1 month launch

I think it is self-explanatoy & better to fail after one month, than after a year ; Wii & PS3 can become successes later, but after a year of failing, the xbox 360 has dug itself into a hole, that the other 2 systems have not .

i wasn't sure, if earlier in this thread, you were referring to this website.
@Asher, I was sure reading in the thread, that finally the GPU(you wrote about Gekko, but I assume that you miswrote you wanted to write about Flipper/Hollywood) was bigger than it was previously stated by Nintendo.
And people, was discussing why it was bigger than stated.
Edit: Pictures was posted around p.83
sorry, page 86
@Asher
Finally my memory was wrong. The chips (hollywood and broadway) are really built on a 90mn process! But is bigger than a straight shrink.
Edit:
Can anyone give a quick summary please of what we know now that the hardware is out and we've peeked inside?
Wii contains the following major ICs:
Broadway - PowerPC CPU based on shrink of GameCube's Gekko to 90nm but possibly with modest amount of unknown additional logic. Rumored clock is 729MHz
Hollywood - GPU. We think this is a superset of Flipper and rumoured clock is 243 MHz. It appears too large to be a straight strink of Flipper to 90nm but it's unclear what additional functionality it may contain. Possibilities include larger framebuffer and/or texture cache, additional TEV or (unlikely) some kind of physics accellerator. Whatever additional functionallity it contains has not resulted in massive IQ improvements over Cube games, at least in launch titles. Broadway presumably also contains an audio DSP backwards compatible with the one in the cube and other system logic, including Wi-Fi support
On the same package as Hollywood but on a separate die is 24MB of 1-T memory - similar to but presumably faster than the main memory in the Cube.
Finally there is a single 64MB GDDR chip taking total system memory (excluding memory embedded within Broadway) to 88MB.
