  • Cutler is as immobile as they come, just from what I've seen. I could be wrong.

Actually, he can scramble, and has. Unfortunately, some of the times he does it, he doesn't slide and gets killed.
Which leads me to what I think is Cutler's biggest problem... BAD JUDGEMENT.

Last night, with his back on the goal line, Josh McCown dumped the ball at the feet of a running back when the play broke down. Cutler would have probably tried to make the play, and gotten sacked in the end zone.

I do like Cutler, but is he going to be worth the $100 million contract he is probably going to want...

      • Yeah, when an old back up can do what he did, it's highlighting that Jay is not worth 100 million. I like Jay a lot, but not for 100 million. And if he comes back next week and can't be beat the lions, he's not going to get it.

It is fun watching the front line gel.

          • Kansas City is quite interesting case. In some ways they remind me of the 2000 Ravens - great running game, great defense, an average non-spectacular QB who avoids too many turnovers.

He's the Romo of the Bears though!

Only the ones where Romo exercises bad judgment.

                    • Who would have thought the second AFC wildcard spot would be contested by San Diego and the Jets?
The sad part is that the Chargers have led in every single game in the 4th quarter. So many missed opportunities. Could have easily beaten the Titans, Texans, Raiders and Redskins. They've had game winning drives in all of those games.

I assume you mean "opportunities for" game winning drives in those losses. They've made it hard on themselves now, with all 4 games vs. KC and Denver (plus IIRC Cinci) still on the schedule.

Yeah, drives if they had been completed would have won them the game. It's one thing if you get pasted but quite another to come so close and fall short.

Raiders game, Chargers had 1st and goal from the 9, down by 10, and 3rd and 4 from the 4. Rivers throws an INT. They got the ball back again, Rivers throwing an INT at 1st and 10 from the 45.

The Chargers were 14 yards short of completing the comeback. Redskins, they were a yard away. Tennessee - they lead until the last 21 seconds, where Locker threw for 34 yards and a TD.

Houston scored on an INT and won on a 45 yard FG with no time on the clock.

See, to you, they were 14 yards away. To me, they were down two possessions.

Redskins, they were a yard away.
You say they were a yard away; Bears fan knows the truth: they failed three time from the one in the last half-minute and settled for the FG. Then lost in OT.

Tennessee - they lead until the last 21 seconds, where Locker threw for 34 yards and a TD.
Defense gives up a long TD late = snatching defeat.

Houston scored on an INT and won on a 45 yard FG with no time on the clock.
Rivers' key-situation INTs seem to be a recurring theme as well.

So yeah, not blown out in most losses. But... seems like SD absorbs a lot of self-inflicted wounds. Be glad they're 4-4 and in the hunt.
