Edit, they were never 8-0. The best collapse has to be the 7-1 Redskins in 1996, who went 1-6 after. No team has been undefeated through 7 and missed. Only one team has run up 7 over 500 and missed, and that was the 9-2 Dolphins who lost 5 in a row to miss out on playoffs.
