Ditch them, Ozzy. There's some fine defenses still on the waiver wire. I picked up Oakland for Cleveland's bye and they obliged with 20+ points

I scrambled to get them actually. I somehow ended up with two defenses with the same bye (philly & giants) so switched in Dallas because I figured Jacksonville would be a weak opponent... I also have Garrard as my backup and he got more points this week on the bench than Drew Brees! Ah!

I now have the Detroit defense, which somehow, is the 9th ranked D in our league.

Yeah well I'm reduced to starting guys like Blount and David Gettis (who somehow gave me negative points this week) instead of my draft picks. Your team looks other-worldly good in comparison.

Anyone who doesn't play the defences situationally is really missing a trick. This week it was a toss up between Detroit and St Louis for me and I picked St Louis, last week I had Washington...

My other great pick this week was Matthew Stafford as QB, as my main QB was on a bye.

Both those picks will be the difference between my winning and losing this week!

PS, Al, Blount looks like a keeper (tho he was matched against a crap Cards run D). I spent a little too long umming and ahhing about him and he slipped through my fingers - still, I have managed to re-snap up Green-Ellis again as my RB3...

Yeah I picked up Blount weeks ago in all my leagues when Tampa first signed him. He was a real life 1st round talent that went undrafted because of a single act of misjudgment when he punched a Boise State player in the face. He's like the next Brandon Jacobs; someone that no defensive player on the field can take down 1 on 1. In one of my leagues, I lost Ryan Grant in the first week but since then, I've put together a very strong RB force with Ahmad Bradshaw, Jamaal Charles, Ryan Torain, LaGarrette Blount, and Danny Woodhead. Woodhead has been more consistently explosive than Green-Ellis but I was really surprised to see how much damage Green-Ellis could do against the highly-touted Vikings front seven. I really thought Woodhead would have a lot of success on the outside and Green-Ellis would be hitting the Williams' Wall and be stuffed. I actually suggested someone bench Green-Ellis but thankfully, she didn't listen. He did way better than I thought he would.

Yeah I played Washington in one of my leagues last week, too. They did do pretty well this week, as well, except for giving up a lot of points... Brandon Banks had a kick return TD.
