  • I'm actually toying with the idea of going with the Buffalo D as my plug and play this week.

Also I have a WR quandary for this week since Ochocinco is being decidedly inconsistent. I'm thinking of going with one of my backup WRs this week instead in the shape of Steve Johnson of BUF. I also have Dez Bryant who seems to be doing OK under Kitna.

Who would you pick out of Ocho, Johnson and Bryant and why?

    PS WR Scoring:

    Receptions 0.5
Reception Yards 10 yards per point; 3 points at 100 yards
    Reception Touchdowns 6

    • Bryant is on the upswing. Do you get points for returns?

Steve Johnson has been pretty good this year. #16 this year in a similar scoring format with DST. Only in the first two weeks did he score less than 10 points.

        • I've been playing Dez but would strongly consider Steve Johnson this week, going against the always-bending Bears pass D.

Yes, I forgot to mention those:

Return Yards: 15 yards per point; 3 points at 150 yards
            Return Touchdowns: 8

Which is very generous, I think!

I am aware that Bryant is excellent on the return side of his game, but those are often hit and miss, which is why I'm looking for a bit of consistency.

Actually, my main reasoning so far simply lies on the fact that BUF are at home, whereas DAL are away.

You should actually expect the high-scoring teams to have lower points against. (They don't play themselves.) But even in addition to that, I've had an easy-ish schedule to start the season. The teams (by points scored) that I haven't played: 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, 12. There's also good luck coming in the future. I play you without your 49ers, and then I play MRT without Aaron Rodgers, Marques Colston, or Antonio Gates. (Just this week I got to play Ozzy without Dallas Clark.)
Everyone will be playing me without Dallas Clark now. But I had some key players on bye vs. you, which definitely hurt in addition to my suddenly dismal TE situation.

              • I would start Steve Johnson over Bryant. His TD streak should have ended weeks ago but he's still at it. Maybe one more week for a TD?

Buffalo D makes sense because any D against Chicago looks smart now but my only hesitation would be that Buffalo D just isn't very good. They've given up a lot of points and have only 1 interception all year. This would be a case of is Chicago that susceptible to getting sacked and having turnovers that ANY D can be a fantasy play? If that isn't necessarily true, I would be hesitant to start what's likely the worst defense in the NFL.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Cardinals D is out there. They've been quietly scoring a lot of defensive/return TDs (6 in only 7 games!) and they go up against the Vikings who could probably score points on them but Favre is bound to throw a pick and the way the Cards seem to score TDs off turnovers, they have a good shot at scoring.

I see the logic in Buffalo but my play of the week D that'll probably be on most league's waivers would be Arizona

6 TD's in 7 games! If you got that production out of a RB or WR, it'd be a no-brainer!

Minnesota would also be a good D play against Arizona for a similar reason. Derek Anderson/Max Hall throw a lot of picks. 12 so far.

**** how do you do this?

(I see you dropped Kenny Britt to pick them up. I didn't even notice. I saw that you mentioned dropping Britt here so I just picked him up not bothering to see who you dropped him for)

I just don't have time to wait and see if Britt will come back in week 13 or 14 and I feel confident enough in my WRs now to not miss him entirely.

I picked up ARI because the Vikes suck.

                    • So you didn't even realize that they've scored 6 TD's in 7 games, did you? I mean that's pretty spectacular. 5 defensive scores and 1 kick return.

They were the best available defense against the weakest team playing. Also, titans D has been the best this year. Go figure.

                        • Kenny Britt is going to be out for an extended time, and it could be a season ending injury? Why the heck would you pick him up.

Ming, where are you all seeing these reports? ESPN, Rotoworld, everything I look doesn't say that.

                            Rotoworld:
Titans coach Jeff Fisher said that Kenny Britt's hamstring injury is not season-ending.
Fisher said that Britt "may miss some time" and that they'll "have more information after we return from the off weekend." It's already been reported that Britt is expected to miss several weeks, but it sounds possible he could at least make it back for fantasy playoffs time. Stay tuned.
At the time, I had the space so I said why not?

I've had to cut him though because new Titan Moss has a bye now so I needed another WR.

                            • I read that the Fisher quote was that he "HOPES" the injury is not season-ending

And that's a tough injury to come back from. Even if he gets back on the field, it will probably not be at 100%.
The fact they put a claim in on Moss says a lot
