Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
My hypothetical is an example to show the power of completions.
However, if you must know...
In 2001, Carolina Panthers QB Chris Weinke went 36 of 63 for 223 yards... a 22.4 point fantasy day by our scoring.
A QB with a more realistic (and much better day) 15/25 for 223 yards would have only racked up 16.15 fantasty points.
That really doesn't bother anyone?
How many standard deviations is a 4.2 ypc from median? I think we can safely ignore it.
And it doesn't bother me in the least.

Just this season so far, we've had 19 games where a QB had a Y/A (not ypc, MRT. Yards per attempt) of between 4 and 5 yards per attempt.
Hell Kolb, Tom Brady, and Bradford just did it yesterday! Kolb did it on 48 pass attempts! And these are guys that people would start in deep leagues like ours (****! Brady did it!). Oh yeah and Colt McCoy did it, too... 4 Qb's just yesterday alone.
It's way more common than you think. About 2-3 QB's do it each week every week.

Oh and check this too... of games in which a Qb had at least 15 pass attempts in a game, 23 of them had Y/A of less than 5 yards per attempt so far this season!
23 QB performances in which the QB threw more than 15 passes and managed less then 5 yards per attempt, as of Week 7.
Bradford threw 55 passes one game, Kolb threw 48, Alex Smith and Bradford again threw 45, Sanchez threw 44... yet none of them got past 253 yards. hell, Sanchez didn't even break 200.
This is not uncommon at all, MRT.

40/60 (66%) for 250 yards (4.2 Y/A) and 3 TDs... 91.6 Rating... 15 + 12.5 + 18 = 45.5
15/20 (75%) for 260 yards (13 Y/A) and 4 TDs... 156.25 Rating... 6.25 + 13 + 24 = 43.25
Do you really like it that this happens! Even though QB B threw for MORE YARDS, MORE TD'S, and was all-around better, he has less fantasy points? That doesn't bother you?
There's like 20 of us between the two leagues... I really doubt I'm the only one that this bothers. I think I'm just the only one who has really thought about it so far.
1. If you really think you're the only one who has noticed this particular anomaly, or thinks about scoring systems, you should get a grip. We've had numerous and spirited debates on this over the years.
The bigger issue is the relative strengths of the positions. PPC/PPR rewards passing, no doubt. But to me, it's infinitely preferable to the old days, where a handful of RBs defined the entire league and the QB10 was as good as the QB3 and WRs were an afterthought. Our current system enables a variety of draft strategies.
2. Your loopy example doesn't bother me in the slightest. Yes, I want the guy who throws 60 times over the guy who throws 20 times. Every freaking time, in any FF scoring system I've seen. Just like I want the load back and the go-to WR1. Just like I want the MLB who's on the field for 75 snaps over the All-Pro on a team that produces a lot of 3-and-outs.
Fantasy football does not accommodate yds/attempt metrics. Nor yds/carry, yds/catch, yds after contact, blah blah blah. My recommendation is that you propose something concrete, within Yahoo's structure. You can nerf the QBs all you want, but I daresay you won't find a way to make 20-for-25 better than 40-for-60.

jrabbit, but you don't see how you're doubly rewarding those pass-first QB's? Not only are they more likely to rack up the yardage and the TDs by virtue of more passes, and therefore be more fantasy valuable off that alone, but you've given them points just to pass the ball, so you're magnifying their value even more!
And you're right. I came up with a proposal but I don't think yahoo would allow for it.

In any other scoring system there isn't enough to differentiate a pass first QB from a 50/50 pass run QB. Also, this will blow your mind Spear but in another league where I have brees and it's 20 yards per point and 4 pts per td, -1 for ints and -2 for fumbles, Big Ben and Brees had the same score. I'm sorry that you think our current scoring system unduly rewards certain performance over others but this is true for almost any league.
Also, I'm far more concerned with there being viable strategies outside running back heavy teams, especially in a 14 team scenario. You know why I'm #2 in points? Cause of my WR and TE and QB picks.

This is what it comes down to, Alby. If there's no way to implement what you want, you're just whistlin' in the wind. You can go TD-heavy, but Brees and Big Ben both threw two. You can eliminate yardage points, but they were within 50 yds of each other anyway. You can upgrade penalties for turnovers, but that rewards no-risk offenses. You can eliminate points per completion, but that makes RBs too dominant.
So be a hater, but know that it's the game, not the players.

jesus, talk about management fiascos...mighty drizzle has 50 points on the bench and he still might not lose to guy.
