I'm cool with that. I want her to have a good time and enjoy fantasy football. She's really competitive and doesn't like losing. I'm pretty sure she's going to call me her ***** a few times during the first week of the season since we're going head to head.

It's good that theres some validation for her too because she was worried her team wasn't good enough at WR and RB.

I sincerely doubt you ever saw him play. He lead a Chargers team at the age of 39, a team that went 1-15 the year before to 5 wins.

He started 15 games in 1999 for the Bills but was benched in favor of Rob Johnson at the end of the season and for the playoffs... You got to really lose the faith of your coach to get benched heading into the playoffs.

All he did for Buffalo is win. He went 10-5 and 8-3, and 4-1. Rob Johnson was one of the worst quarterbacks in the history of football. Phillips says that Ralph Wilson ordered him to start Rob Johnson who had the huge contract at the time.

I've seen Flutie play all his years in the CFL and he's the best I've ever seen. He threw for 6,222 yards one season. He has 2 of the top 3 best seasons and 3 of 3 for passing TDs in a season. He threw 48 TDs ten years before anyone even came close in the NFL.

Doug Flutie as your ideal QB? You're joking, right? Why? Because he played for your precious Chargers a few years? Doug Flutie couldn't keep a starting job on any of the many NFL teams he played for.

I became a Chargers fan because they let him start.

He never should have played a down of football in Canada because he was too damned good. Year after year he destroyed everybody in the CFL. I don't think it's fair to judge him by his brief NFL career, which was at both ends, the start and the finish, but never in his prime. That's an unfortunate thing. He could have been, even with his NFL stats alone, the greatest QB the Bears ever had but that never happened.

He was so horrible that he has a higher career passer rating than Flutie

And seriously, there is no way that Johnson is in the same league as Ryan Leaf, Akili Smith, etc, etc.

Well, a) the CFL doesn't have nearly the talent of the NFL and the whole 12 men thing and 3 downs and wider field, means its a far more wide open game. Therefore the 48 TDs doesn't compare.

Um... he was 26 and 27 while QB at New England, not exactly the "start" of a career, and was HORRIBLE! He played 11 games (9 starts) in 1988 for the Pats and had a 63 passer rating and then the next year he played 5 games (started 3) and had a 46 passer rating.
