Sophmore QBs have a tendency to break out as much as sophmore RBs tend to suck it up.

Stafford is a bum. I can tell you right now he will never amount to anything in the NFL. I'll eat my words if I'm wrong but I am pretty sure Stafford will flame out.

In any event, I am not saying he IS going to be Aikman/Manning. Just that it's likely that some people are expecting a breakout year as a result.

He's a bum... he made Calvin Johnson slump. I mean really. Why is that not considered? Johnson lit it up for 1300 yards and 13 TD's with a committee of QB's that included Dan Orlovsky, Culpepper, and Kitna. He drops to 984 and 5 TD's with Stafford under center.

I mean yeah what can you expect from a rookie QB but come on... Dan Orlovsky?

Megatron also played only 14 games last year. His yds/game only dropped by 13 -- with a rookie QB and being doubled on virtually every play. Let's not overstate this.

I think Stafford could be a competent NFL QB. He may or may not be - but it's not unlikely, I don't think. He's certainly superior to Ryan Leaf already just based on last year.

You're also failing to take into account the Lions effect...

I was mainly talking about his college career. He was supposed to be a Sam Bradford or Matt Leinart type QB, someone who'd carry a team on his throwing, and turned out to be not as good as David Greene (not that David Greene was bad!! Just far different expectation level).
