There you go for all you guys who insist that Shiancoe is "not a starter". He's the number 8 starter in the league now that Daniels is out.

    As for Farve:

    Peyton Manning
    Matt Schaub
    Tom Brady
    Brett Favre

He's the number 4 starting QB in the league.

    Fred Jackson 95.60 (14)
    Ryan Grant 89.70 (16)

    Who JRabbit loves so much.

And he still won't make the trade? I'm not sure what I have to do. I'm offering 3 players who are better than anything JRabbit has on his roster, for a player who is not a top number 2 back in the league, who's just ordinary.

    • The point isn't that he's not a starter - he is. But he wouldn't be on my team, or on JR's. I certainly would've considered a trade for him if I was the Daniels owner [though you asked too much for him, that was likely as you say because there wasn't a 'right' amount for him].

Jackson isn't better than Grant and you know it; he had a great four weeks without Lynch, and then has been relegated to busboy since then [stupid of them to do so, but what can we do?]. The point is that for JR, you're offering him a QB that's not much of an upgrade to him [I'm guessing here], and who is expected to weaken over time by many, and a TE who he won't play, and a RB who is a huge downgrade, for a mid-level RB.

No idea where the crap about 'better than anything JR has on his roster' comes from, particularly with Vernon Davis falling #2 on your list above...

If it were me I might have taken that trade, actually, for Favre; but JR may well not value Favre like you do. It certainly wasn't quite as absurd as your initial offer of him to me for Stewart. The other two throwins are just that - throwins - and not worth consideration, unless you expect a Jauron firing in Buffalo. Accept that your valuations are different from other peoples', and move on...

Yes, it's hard to find a good fit. I'm just teasing JR though about the trade. I think it's pretty even, and I think both will benefit.

I'm having a hard time assessing Fred Jackson's value. He's earned his starting spot back again over Beanie with 12 points last game. That's one of the reasons I would like a more consistant number 2 starter. I'm willing to give up starting talent for him.

I realise that FJax would be a downgrade, but I believe that Farve is an upgrade over his QB, and that the chance for 50 points from Farve has a much bigger benefit than the loss of about 5 points at RB2. JRabbit would be a beast and win some games again.

Throwins for sure, but my point is that Shiancoe is a starter, both on the field and in our league. I guess it just bothers me that a guy who did just fine for me when Gates had his bye just ain't getting any respect.

        • The problem with FJ is it's solely return yards. He does well when... his team is being blown out (or otherwise gives up a lot of scores). But he never does REAL well; even on a big return night, he gets under 12 points, and he's not going to break it off for a score like Knox or Harvin will.

I don't think any of us are disrespecting Shiancoe. What we're both saying is that he is not a useful player for us. You need to gauge your market better [and offering Brett Favre to a lifetime Bears fan is probably one example of that...]

This is a total bald-faced lie, and revisionist history -- amazingly, within the same thread.

Farve, FJax + Shiancoe for Jackson.
            1. FJax is RB3 at best, as I would start JStewart over him in virtually all matchups.
            2. I don't trust Favre down the stretch. Could be wrong, but my call.
            3. Shiancoe has value, but not to me.

If you're going to sit there and "tease" me about not trading with you, at least tell the effing truth.

            • Further on the trade front, in what I considered a mild surprise, Tuber accepted my offer for a Cardinal Swap, exchanging Larry Fitzgerald for Hightower and Breaston. This is another example of exchanging surplus for need; I trade a surplus RB for an upgrade at WR.

This, however, is also probably a trade that will be "won" or "lost", as it largely banks on my side on either Fitz improving and catching more TDs, or Hightower regressing some (with Beanie taking carries away), or both. If neither happens, more than likely Tuber 'wins' the trade, as I think on balance exchanging +30 points at RB for +30 points at WR, plus actually giving up a player, is a bad deal for me; but I think one or the other will happen. It might be 'won' by both of us, as Tuber is gaining two starters for one, but we'll see.

              • Slowwy, amazingly, has not clinched yet.

                Slowwy clinches with a:

                Win over Da Boyz. OR

Fireman loss AND Mountain Goats loss
Fireman loss AND Calamitous Intent loss
Topeka Twister loss AND Belichick Magnet loss
Topeka Twister loss AND Mountain Goats loss
Topeka Twister loss AND Calamitous Intent loss.

You are right, and I'm sorry. I mixed up the offers. I thought I had offered you all three for Ryan Grant.

                  My apologies.

                          • I'm more than willing to take offers (Of course the problem here is that I like YOUR RB quality, if not quantity, so short of a 2-for-1 that I doubt you'd go for, I can't imagine a trade working out... but who knows )

                              • Clinched playoffs. He can still be bounced out at 7-6, with 6 other players getting 8-5. There's multiple different ways for it to happen, and he can be bounced out by spaced, snoopy or berz in the 6 spot, in that order of likelihood. I believe the lowest he can still finish is in a tie for eighth.
