    • Wow, Boston is down 2 games to 0 and the Yankees are up (with some umpire screw ups) 2 games to 0. I'd like to see the Angels get over their Boston curse.

      • ANGELS SWEEP!!!

With a stunning comeback in the 9th over Papelbon as Vlad Guerrero hits a 2 run single to put the Angels in the lead.

        • Dodgers-Angels would be fun to watch...

          • Most definitely. But I'm sure the network execs are chewing their fingers over such a pairing (they'd, of course, like Yankees-Dodgers).

            • And down go the Twins. Yankees vs. Angels in the ALCS.

              • With both the Twins and Cards out in the first round, I'm very pleased with how this year is playing out so far. Boston and St Louis going out in 3 -- both with 9th inning collapses -- was pretty shocking. But not in a bad way.

I'll be rooting for the Angels the rest of the way.

                • Spoken like a true sour grapes Chicago guy...

I will be rooting for the Angels as well, only because they play the closest thing to "Whitey-Ball" that you can find in the majors.

I don't think their pitching is good enough to overcome the Skankees...

                  • It's not sour grapes when your team hasn't won in a century. The Cards and Twinkies have earned my hate fairly, and my friends who are fans of those teams wear it like a badge of honor.

It's perfectly possible to admire a team's baseball skills while simultaneously wishing them an agonizing death.

                    • Why have the Twins earned your hate? Just because of obnoxious fans (which is why Boston earned my hate after I strongly hoped a championship for them prior to 2004)?

                        • So JR, did you enjoy, or despise, watching the 1987 series?

I suppose I'll root for the Phillies/Rockies winners, to the extent that I'll root for anyone. Mostly I'll just root against the Yankees.

Easy. The Twins had not yet earned my hatred at that time. But hating the Cardinals has been pretty much a lifelong condition. So I loved that series!

In truth, I actually admire the way the Twins have managed to stay competitive with a low payroll and attention to fundamentals. But some of the stuff that went down between them and the White Sox over the past several years have stuck in my craw.

Yea, I think I'll be going for the Dodgers too. Unless the Rockies can stay alive. A Yankees-Dodgers series would be kinda neat. I know it has happened many times before, but not since I was a month or two old.

                              • I'd like to see that also just so I can cheer for the Dodgers to kick their ass.
And I'm sure FOX would just love that series too.

Even my wife said that an angles/dodgers series would probably be a rating loser.
