    Yeah, but the Dodgers don't try to steal all the time . And their speed guys can also hit for some power (well, except for Pierre, but he was only playing so much because Manny got suspended).

      Saw Joe Mauer steal a base last night... amazing what a fairly slow guy can do given a bit of knowledge of the game (and in fact, on the other side was AJ Pierzynski, another great baserunner with little speed).

            .... Kinsler's also a far worse hitter and is a player who seems to have some speed, so doesn't qualify for snoopy's observation. Basically, WTF Sloww?

                  Nick Swisher's road terror show continues. It's so wierd. He's got 23 HRs. He's hit 20 of them on the road. YSIII has cozy dimensions in RCF and RF. The other Yankee hitters are taking advantage of this. Swisher obstinately refuses to, preferring to be a real man and hit his elsewhere.

                  There is no explanation for this, and I love it.

                    I've decided I'm going to put myself 100% on the Nick Johnson and Maybe Felipe Lopez bandwagon. Add those two and we have the best offense outside of the Bronx. Wonder if I should camp out at Kenny's house? Or just twitterspam him?

                      Let's not overstate things . They are 11th in Runs Scored per Game and 12th in OPS+.

                        Right. Add in a solid switch hitting leadoff man adding about .050 to .075 OBP [ie, about 1/3 of an out per game], and a good OBP #3 hitter with decent left handed power, adding .050 to 0.75 again [another 1/3 of an out] and that will improve significantly. Rios' addition will also help that once he gets out of his funk (and I'm sure he will), and hopefully Quentin returns to close to last year (doesn't have to be amazing, just close, and not hurt ) and I think we jump into the top 3 offenses in the league.

                            Also, anybody following the discussions on MLBTradeRumors.com about the RoY's in the various leagues? I'm amused that the NL discussion always goes "Happ, Hanson, McCutcheon" and nearly always leaves out Randy Wells, who's having a similar level of season to Happ (sub-3 ERA...) and better than Hanson. Stupid east coast bias... though I suppose Happ probably gets the nod ultimately, it shouldn't be unanimous or anything close.

                            On the AL side, it's entirely wide open... Porcello, Bailey, Niemann, just to start with. Pretty much the only sure thing is that Wieters won't win it ...
