119 OPS+ actually. Are you seriously trying to use a 119 OPS+ as meaning he deserves to be in the conversation as one of the best 1B of the 90s
Wow. Just... wow.
You do realize that means he was only 19% better than the average player. That's decent, but hardly to be considered with the rest of the great 1B. Power does mean something.
To put that in perspective, a 120 career OPS+ is what Paul O'Neill had. Another player not in the same level.
I'll list the career OPS+ of the players you suggested:
Thome: 146
Palmeiro: 132
McGwire: 162
Helton: 141
Bagwell: 149
Grace: 119
Ortiz: 134
Pujols: 172
Which one doesn't fit (on the low end)?

Palmeiro does (steroids or no, I don't care). Helton probably needs to put in a few more good years (he's only played in 1800 games, after all). Ortiz, no, he hasn't played enough and seems to be fading fast (though since he helped Boston win the WS twice, he'll likely get in regardless
)... which kinda leads me to another point. If Delgado played most of his career with the Yankees, he'd be considered a no brainer and probably 1st ballot.
