    Come the **** on.

Cal just won AT Oregon. And OSU has looked nigh-unbeatable thus far. Wisconsin will get their shot at the Bucks, and if they win out, they may get a shot at Cal as well.

Bingo. That's exactly what it seems like. I mean Wisconsin struggled in the first half against the Citidel for God's sake!

      • As a complaining Wisconsin fan, I want a high ranking because I think they deserve it.

regarding their schedule: back when it first came out, Michigan was 5, OSU was 11 and Penn St was 17.

And I'm telling you, Illinois is a damn good team.

        • Let's be clear. Are you arguing that Michigan and Penn State are damn good teams?

          • Yes, they are good teams who have tumbled (Penn State will get their stride back and after the 0-2 start that shocked everyone, Michigan is 3-0 and 2-0 in big ten play, so they still have a shot at the Big ten title and the rose bowl), but that's not what I'm argueing...

What I'm arguing is that the poll system is crap.

(But mostly I'm bored at home raising crap about stuff that really doesn't matter.)

They haven't played Michigan yet, and presumably not the others also (I don't know their schedule). Once they've played better teams they'll move up (if they win). Cal certainly deserves to be above them, beating a very good Oregon already, and OSU has had somewhat better out of conference teams as well (and finished higher last year, so they get a higher spot this year until beaten or having a much worse schedule).

Big Ten teams usually look poor in the rankings until the end, when the big games are. After those big games, whomever comes out undefeated in the big 10 (if there is one) will look mighty sharp in the rankings (even Michigan)

              • Cal

has played and beaten Tennessee (at home) and Oregon (on the road).

Wisconsin has no signature wins. Do you really believe that on a neutral field, Wisconsin will beat Cal?

As for Ohio State, Wisconsin will play them later. That will give us a definitive answer as to which team deserves to be ranked higher.

                  • I'm not sure how you can use Wisconsin has Michigan and Ohio State on their schedule LATER IN THE YEAR as justification that they should be ranked higher. WTF?!

                      • U-M won't have to forfeit Big Ten win

Wolverines could still be penalized for using an ineligible player against the Nittany Lions.

ANN ARBOR -- Michigan will not have to forfeit its victory over Penn State.

Forfeiture was a consideration after Michigan reported to the Big Ten last Thursday it used an ineligible player in that game.

Freshman safety Artis Chambers, who enrolled at Michigan in January, will remain on scholarship and can practice with the team but will not be allowed to play the rest of the season, Michigan said in a statement Thursday.

The Big Ten compliance and reinstatement subcommittee is still mulling a possible punishment for Michigan.

The issue involved a misinterpretation of Big Ten freshman eligibility rules, Michigan athletic director Bill Martin said Saturday when the situation came to light.

Big Ten spokesman Scott Chipman declined to comment.

Chambers, of Fort Wayne, Ind., had limited playing time the first four games on special teams. The eligibility problem involved only Big Ten rules, not NCAA, so the first three games in which he played were not an issue.

Michigan defeated Penn State for the ninth straight time, 14-9, Sept. 22 at Michigan Stadium.

                          • I hope OSU wins... UM-OSU is a much better game, and honestly has a higher chance of a Wolverine win, if both teams have a shot at the title equally as opposed to OSU being a spoiler ... UM plays poorly against spoiler teams for some reason.

                            • And Kentucky is going to take a tumble. My does South Carolina look great. Only loss was to LSU and has beaten Georgia and Kentucky as well. Let's just say Spurrier has convinced me... Top 5 next poll.

Oops. Sorry. I missed that you asked me a question.

Purdue is doing well, and I'm glad they are ranked, but I wouldn't place them at the level of Wisconsin/OSU because you do have to take history into account; Recent history. Usually around 4 years (What is a players eligibility? 5 years? Maybey 6 with one year of redshirt?). What has Wisconsin done in the last for years? What has Purdue done (I realy don't know)?

In the end, you really can dismiss alot of my opinions on college football because I will admit that I don't know much outside of the Badgers and star players that will have an impact on the pros.
