Sunday, October 07 2018 Michael Avenatti Turns Radioactive As Liberals Blame Porn Lawyer For Kavanaugh Confirmation

Michael Avenatti Turns Radioactive As Liberals Blame Porn Lawyer For Kavanaugh Confirmation
Following Friday’s announcement by Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) that she would vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, the left flipped on one of its recent heroes; Michael Avenatti.

In a fiery speech announcing her decision, Collins ripped unsupported claims by Avenatti’s client, Julie Swetnick, that Kavanaugh facilitated a Cosby-esque “gang rape” operation while in high school.
Some of the allegations levied against Judge Kavanaugh illustrate why the presumption of innocence is so important. I am thinking in particular not of the allegations raised by Professor Ford, but of the allegation that, when he was a teenager, Judge Kavanaugh drugged multiple girls and used their weakened state to facilitate gang rape.
This outlandish allegation was put forth without any credible supporting evidence and simply parroted public statements of others. That such an allegation can find its way into the Supreme Court confirmation process is a stark reminder about why the presumption of innocence is so ingrained in our American consciousness. -Sen. Susan Collins

As a result of Collins citing Swetnick’s claim, liberals began to pile onto Avenatti – blaming him for Kavanaugh’s impending Saturday confirmation, while conservative pundits poked fun.

Avenatti may be a Republican operative cuz no one could pull off this self-sabotage, unless it was deliberate.

            — GregGutfeld (@greggutfeld) October 5, 2018
While Christine Blasey Ford’s groping allegation may have been believable – and enough to derail the nomination, subsequent claims against Kavanaugh likely derailed what little legitimacy Ford had.
Collins called the Swetnick allegation "outlandish" and Kennedy said "this process changed dramatically when Mr. Avenatti entered the picture." Michael Avenatti provided cover for Republicans to confirm Kavanaugh. Nice work, dude. https://t.co/yOMHyrOqPF

THIS is why Democrats did NOT want Michael Avenatti to get involved in this fight. Collins is specifically citing Swetnick's "gang rape" accusation as something that made her think she needed to give Kavanaugh the benefit of the doubt.

Her "historic" speech showed no backbone and will cost her the Senate seat in 2020, especially after SCOTUS strikes down Roe v Wade contrary to what she stated. Collins is finished.

You want backbone? Look at Doug Jones and Heidi Heitkamp. They voted against Kavanaugh because they knew it was the right thing to do.

Collins sucked up to the party line and will forever be known for her betrayal of her state and liberal leaning constituents. Maine is shifting further blue.

In this country if you do the right thing you are vilified by the republican party and sent threats by trump supporters.

Doug Jones, who showed great courage and backbone, has said his staff has been threatened.

Murkowski, the one republican with courage and independence, was threatened by Trump. She voted present because of a colleague being absent for a family members wedding, but essentially was against Kavanaugh. Trump said Alaskan voters wouldn't forgive her. Never mind Alaska is shifting politically and the governor is independent (democrat leaning) and the LT. Governor is a democrat.

Apparently standing for what is correct is vilified and attacked. I wish there were more Murkowskis. If only Collins had that courage. Her voters are against Kavanaugh.

Doing what is proper is no longer acceptable and is frowned upon by the GOP and Christian conservative hypocrites.

                • Seems like Trump is paving the way to cement his way into a one party dictatorship:

Demonizing the Democrats more than before:
You don’t hand matches to an arsonist, and you don’t give power to an angry left-wing mob. Democrats have become too EXTREME and TOO DANGEROUS to govern. Republicans believe in the rule of law - not the rule of the mob. VOTE REPUBLICAN!
                  https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/...45061888880640

And at the same time trying to get the names of people supporting/liking his political enemies:
The Trump administration reportedly has obtained search warrants that would allow them access to the Facebook pages of thousands of anti-Trump protesters.

The requested data — which targets all the information in three accounts — would include information on about 6,000 individuals who “liked” an anti-Donald Trump Facebook page, according to CNN.
                  ...
                  https://nypost.com/2017/09/28/depart...site%20buttons

Guess the next step will be imprisonment of Trump-/GOP-critical journalists of the free press in order to shut them down/scare them into obedience ... perhaps Kavanaugh and his 4 other rightwing judges can reinterpret some laws so that critical articles against the sitting president count as terrorism

                  • Concentration camps will follow too.

At this point, trump needs to be removed and tossed in jail.

The left wing reaction and blowback is coming globally to this right wing populist garbage. This reaction will be class based and not just based on social matters.

I'm angry and fed up, and so are millions of others. Trump is kicking a sleeping tiger. Rule of law he says? Maybe he should start following laws.

                    • Btw besides from Rasmussen, Trumps approval rating has stayed steady in the toilet.

                      https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com...ngs/promo.html

42% approval from the latest YouGov poll.

There are also indications that he is hurting republican chances in the House.

In midterm elections, with different candidates on the ballot in every state and district, it’s rare to see the sort of sharp, turn-on-a-dime shifts in the poll…

In addition, Kyrsten Sinema and Bill Nelson are building up leads over their republican counterparts.
