That seems unlikely as Japan was part of the TransPacific Partnership so we would have had free trade if Trump just hadn't been a dumb ass and pulled us out. Personally, I wanted to see the TPP reformed to remove the corporate giveaways Obama let the lobbyists stuff it with but free trade is definitely a net good.

I honestly expect after Donnie small hands gets himself impeached the US will rejpin the TPP thpugh now our hance to reform it will be limited at best.

TPP is good but it has some poison pills in it for me. If it were just Japan, it would be a much different thing.

A successful impeachment of "Donnie Small Hands" is a pipe dream. Even if we had clear proof of Russian collusion, there is no way that 18 Republican Senators (I am even assuming the Democrats can pick up a Senate seat in 2018) will vote for impeachment. Nowadays, party trumps (an intended pun BTW) all.

But disturbingly, at this point, the vast majority of the GOP Congress is clearly, by their actions and inaction, placing party above country. There are exceptions, but they are precious few thus far.

And Trump takes a lot of effort to make it appear that everything is us vs. them ... with us = GOP and them = Democrats and everything they control (like all of the fake news media and also Mueller with his russia investigation (aka witch hunt))

And unfortunately he isn't totally unsuccessful with this strategy
