  • Puerto Ricans reacted harshly on Saturday to President Trump's tweets that leaders of the hurricane-ravaged Caribbean island "want everything to be done for them when it should be a community effort."

Several Puerto Ricans contacted by CNN stood up for San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz, who apparently provoked the Trump tweet with a call for more aid, and many said the Puerto Rican community at home and abroad is already working together.

"I'm amazed that he has the gall to say Puerto Ricans expect everything to be done for them," said Griselmarie Alemar of Stratford, Connecticut. "They are working exhaustively to lift themselves up. We are citizens. We pay taxes. We serve in the military."

Well we know how Trump feels about Latinos.

    • But but but, he said he knows some Latinos and that they are some 'great' people.

      • I personally really doubt anyone would bet money over Trump suspending elections in 2020, notwithstanding the bluster.

                  • I never heard the audio for Trump's comforting of Puerto Rico... Did he at least yell, "Great Scott!" when he threw the paper towels?

                    • Donald Trump is the president with the most narrow range in aproval rating since decades.

                      http://edition.cnn.com/2017/10/03/po...l_bottommedium

Seems like everyones opinion of Trump (this also includes the republicans ith their positive opinion) seems to be rather fixed and nothing Trump does has an all too big efffect in changing this opinion.
Likewise his already narrow opinion bands are among he lowest among the while US adult population, as well as among the independent voters.

                      • I think this boils down to a few factors:

                        a) Trump was obviously going to be a terrible president
                        b) Trump has lived up to that promise
                        c) a certain percentage of Americans prefer a terrible president
                        d) a certain percentage of Americans do not want a terrible president
                        e) a certain percentage of Americans will support an R regardless
                        f) a certain percentage of Americans will oppose an R regardless
                        e) none of these factors fluxuates in the near term future

                            • the a*****e in chief, as he has proven again:
In his tweets, Donald Trump seems to be blaming Puerto Rico for its post-hurricane crisis and preparing to wash his hands of it, a disgraceful response for the President of all Americans, Raul Reyes says.

                              • The President's next tweet about the Puerto Rico crisis was the worst: "We cannot keep FEMA, the Military & the First Responders, who have been amazing (under the most difficult circumstances) in P.R. forever!"
Of course not, the US Military has more important things to do like occupying middle eastern countries for over a decade!
