I bet that that also goes for 99.9999999% of the world population
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

So? If you think NK is anywhere near as powerful vs the US now as Japan was then, you're a moron. NK knows for assurity that they cannot beat the US. Some in Japan were worried they couldn't beat the US. And the US didn't have any nukes back then ...

So AQ was counting on their own destruction? Please tell me more about your theory.
They were counting on us retaliating. They know they can't hold territory against the US. Just as NK knows they can't hold territory against the US if it comes to all-out warfare.

But AQ are not a state. They don't care to hold territory. They want to hide in other's territory so we will blunder in and create more terrorists, create instability where terrorism can thrive, and generally piss everyone off. And we obliged them.

NK is a state. They have territory. They obviously care very much about holding that territory. Thus they have to play within certain bounds ... or they lose what they obviously want. Which they have done for 64 years and counting.

Avoiding hostilities is not the goal. The goal is national security, and next to that the security of our allies and overseas interests.
Peace enhances security. War undermines it.

Korea ... a divided country you think is in such dire straights that starting another war is necessary ... is the best outcome (so far) we've had from our "nation building" wars. Yet you're biting at the bit to go do it again, this time with nukes and risking WWIII?

Our track record at this is abysmal. Iraq is a mess. Afghanistan is a mess. Libya is a mess. Syria is a mess. Vietnam kicked us out, which may be why they are at least stable and growing, and may eventually end up as a better result than Korea. Especially if you hawks get your Korean War II.
