Okay, what can we realistically expect from a Trump presidency?

Luckily he will be on a short leash. I simply expect paralysis. I don't think Democrats are going to budge.

There are already laws in the US against foreign espionage, Donnie. Do your homework before taking office

I can't think of anything MORE serious than the kind of fury it takes for normal everyday westerners to walk out onto the streets en masse and protest without a celebrity or a politician sparking it and calling for them to participate.
. . . because they spent a whole month in that park and emerged with absolutely no credible plan of action? They didn't organize, they didn't prioritize, they didn't take concrete steps to implement change. They seemed to be under the impression that they could fix things simply by being sufficiently angry and disruptive for a sufficiently long period of time. To some extent, this seems to be a problem with American liberalism as a whole; we've learned the wrong lessons from the Sixties.

Yes, get organized, but at least be open minded enough to look at what he tries to do before summarily blocking it.
Don't be what you've complained about.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

          • re occupy: looks like the same as with other anger/protst votes/movements - it's the easiest thing in the world to be "against it" (whatever), however, working a out a positive alternative that is more than general bubbles (make Am. great again) seems rather tricky (requiring work and lotsa considerations, way less entertaining than just blaming someone/something)

I think we need to make him look like an idiot and block anything and everything he tries to do. At the end of the day, we need to win back Congress in two years.

I wouldn't even bother looking at anything he does. At this stage, it all needs to be blocked.

              • Looking at the Wiki for BLM. They seem to be big fans of silly street theater a la Occupy (which was my general impression before reading). Is there some sort of long-term plan beyond protesting here? I'm scanning the article for mentions of policy proposals or election campaigns and coming up awful dry. There's a reference to something called Campaign Zero which makes specific proposals, but then notes that BLM activists criticize it for being "overly focused on legislative remedies for police violence." As opposed to . . . ?

While that's true you first need to empty the glass in order to fill it again.

Campaign Zero sounds like it would be more effective for sure.

                    • Hell, Gian. I called the election wrong too. It happens. I was right in 2012, and wrong about the swings.

                        Yea. It happens.

I already said I was mistaken.

You never know... that game plan may make the Dems look even worse, and give the Repubs a chance for an even bigger majority.

Gee... blocking everything without even looking at it. I thought you said you were educated?

We shall see then. But Trump is an idiot and I am not interested in what he wants to do.

Republicans are not set up to keep their majority by 2018. They will shed seats.
