Yeah, that's so they can check whether someone voted more than once. Also - they can tell someone voted - ie, stepped up to the booth - but they can't tell who they voted for.

In the US everyone pays the same % in payroll tax up to a cutoff, over which no SS tax is paid. People who earn more than that cutoff, and/or who earn from investments/interest pay less % of overall income.

I would question whether it is the obligation of the employer to ensure that their employees have the documentation to work in the United States. After all, it wasn't the employer that is responsible for them getting into the US in the first place.

So, by this post, Ben Kenobi effectively says that all tourism to USA should be banned. LOL

Let me rephrase it, if a tourist got into US in the first place, it's not an employer who is responsible for it, so employer isn't obligated to ensure that their employees have the documentation to work in the United States.

So, your "solution" is to ban all tourism and to pretend that it's impossible to illegally cross the border.

It's not. It's a horrible tax. The worst part is that it effectively doubles the labor cost on low wage employees.
