Also, you are not very well informed about how pneumonia happens. There are many ways, and some are simply not preventable. For instance my Dad gets it often because of a lung disease. He is not and never was a smoker. Just dumb luck with a rare interaction with a common type of spore.

No one is turned away from emergency rooms, which is generally where people who are dying turn up.
The US has plenty of problems with its healthcare system, but lack of cause of death stats generally isn't one of them. The reality is that pneumonia is one of, if not the, leading infectious killers in developed countries. Worldwide there are around 450 million cases a year. It can develop suddenly, and is not always preventable.

This is a lie. The rates of pneumonia is much higher in both Greece and Russia than it is in the United States.
